☀️🎉 That's a wrap on the 2025–2026 school year at ARISE Virtual Academy! 🎉☀️

What a wonderful way to end the school year! Despite a rainy forecast, we were fortunate to get a break from the raindrops and enjoy our End-of-Year Picnic at Peace Park together.

It was great to see so many of our students and families in person as we celebrated a year filled with learning, growth, and accomplishments. We were also proud to recognize our 8th grade students as they received certificates honoring their successful completion of middle school. Congratulations to our 8th graders on this important milestone!

These moments are a great reminder of the connections that make our ARISE community so special. We are incredibly proud of all of our students and the hard work, perseverance, and growth they demonstrated throughout the school year.

Thank you to our students, families, and staff for making this year such a success. We hope everyone enjoys a safe, relaxing, and well-deserved summer break.

🍎We look forward to welcoming students back for the first day of school on Monday, August 24.📚

💜 Have a wonderful summer, ARISE families!💜

ARISE Virtual Academy elementary students were excited to participate in the School District of Janesville,'s celebration of America's upcoming 250th birthday!

As a virtual school, our students joined together online to learn about this historic milestone and sing along with The Star-Spangled Banner, Lift Every Voice and Sing, and All American Me and You. Even though we learn in a virtual environment, opportunities like this help connect our students to the larger School District of Janesville community.

We are proud to have our students represented in this district-wide event as part of the United States Semiquincentennial celebration.

🇺🇸 Happy 250th Birthday, America! 🇺🇸

🎓 Celebrating the ARISE Virtual Academy Class of 2026! 🎓

On June 2, the ARISE Virtual Academy community came together to honor the accomplishments of the Class of 2026. Surrounded by family, friends, staff, and supporters, our graduates were recognized for their hard work, perseverance, and dedication throughout their educational journey.

As virtual learners, these students demonstrated exceptional independence, self-motivation, and resilience while balancing the flexibility and responsibilities that come with online learning. Their success is a testament to their commitment to achieving their goals and making the most of the opportunities ARISE provides.

The ceremony featured remarks from Principal Veronica McMahon, School District of Janesville, Superintendent Mark Holzman, ARISE Governance Board member Emily Matteson, and student speakers Cheyenne Dix and Addyson Schoville, whose reflections highlighted the resilience, growth, and determination of this graduating class.

Following the ceremony, graduates and guests gathered for a reception to celebrate this important milestone and the bright futures that lie ahead.

We are incredibly proud of each member of the Class of 2026 and grateful to the families, staff, and community members who supported them along the way.

Congratulations, graduates! Your ARISE family is proud of all you have accomplished and excited to see what comes next. 💜🎓

What a great afternoon on Wednesday at the annual School District of Janesville, All-City 4th Grade Track Meet!

Our ARISE 4th graders participated in events including hurdles, the 50-yard dash, shot put, softball throw, and long jump. We are so proud of the effort, perseverance, and sportsmanship these students showed throughout the day. We even had a few ribbons earned and one of our students was recognized for outstanding sportsmanship! 👏

You may notice in the pictures that most of our students are wearing ARISE shirts, while one student is not. Did you know students can attend ARISE as a hybrid student? One of our 4th graders does exactly that this year — taking most of her classes with ARISE while still attending PE in person at her brick-and-mortar school. It’s a great example of the flexibility ARISE Virtual Academy can offer families!

The sunshine, cheering, and excitement made for such a fun afternoon. Our students encouraged one another, tried new things, and represented ARISE so well all day long. So proud of this group

What an incredible afternoon at the School District of Janesville, Elementary Track Meet for our ARISE Virtual Academy 5th graders!

The annual All-City Track and Field Meet has been a Janesville tradition since 1927, and today our students were proud to be part of that long-standing tradition.

Our students competed in hurdles, long jump, softball throw, shot put, 50-yard dash, medicine ball throw, and the 400-meter run. We are so proud of the effort, determination, sportsmanship, and teamwork they showed throughout the entire afternoon.

ARISE students earned many ribbons across the meet, and we are especially excited to share that EVERY student who participated earned at least one ribbon in one of their events today!

Beyond the ribbons and placements, it was amazing to watch students encourage one another, try new challenges, and represent ARISE with such positive attitudes and school pride.

Great job, ARISE athletes! You made us proud today!

What a great day at the Beloit Sky Carp Education Day for students, staff, and chaperones from ARISE Virtual Academy!

Our students had an amazing time enjoying a day of baseball, fun, and learning at the ballpark. Today’s matchup featured the Beloit Sky Carp taking on the Peoria Chiefs, and the Sky Carp came away with a 6–4 win!

It was wonderful to see so many smiles, great sportsmanship, and excitement throughout the day. Thank you to everyone who helped make this field trip such a success!

Our field trips continue to provide opportunities for real-life learning and social-emotional growth for our virtual learners. From cheering on the Sky Carp to spending time together outside of the virtual classroom, today was full of smiles, laughter, and memories.

It is always so special to see our classmates and teachers without a screen between us.

This week, we celebrate the incredible educators who make ARISE such a special community.

Our teachers go far beyond lessons and assignments — they build relationships, encourage confidence, support families, and create meaningful connections with students and their families every single day through the power of virtual learning.

Whether they are teaching live lessons, checking in with students, offering encouragement, answering questions late into the day, or finding creative ways to make learning engaging, their dedication shines through in everything they do.

Thank you for the dedication, kindness, creativity, and care you bring to our students every single day. Your impact reaches far beyond the screen, and our ARISE community is stronger because of you.

At ARISE Virtual Academy, we truly are family, and we are so thankful for the caring, passionate educators who help our students grow academically, socially, and emotionally each day.

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to our amazing ARISE staff!

Last week, ARISE students and staff came together to celebrate all the hard work, focus, and determination that carried us through state testing in March and April. Students in grades 3–11 completed the Forward Exam, PreACT, or ACT, depending on their grade level. Students who did not participate in state testing celebrated their own successes by staying on pace and passing their classes.

Everyone celebrated together by heading to the Movies Janesville theater in the morning to enjoy The Super Mario Galaxy Movie with popcorn and a fun, relaxing experience.

We are so proud of the effort and commitment shown by all of our students throughout this time!
