What a wonderful talent show we just had!!

It is always great to give students the opportunity to shine on stage. I saw a lot of smiles tonight.

So proud of these Guitar Star kids in 5th grade!! This performance was put together in only 4 practices!!!! Just an awesome job! These amazing kids didn’t even get to be able to play guitar in class last year as 4th graders.
In no way did I expect them to put together a performance like this!

This video along with an art showcase video and special dance video were shown to students as part of our Fine Arts Festival these past few days. It’s been a tough year but this is a ray of sunshine through the clouds.
Great job to everyone involved!!

Guitar Stars 2021! 5th Grade Guitar Stars Club at Kennedy Elementary School

We had a fun fine arts festival these last two days!!! Classes signed up for times to have a special viewing in the PAC of Art Music and Dance from our school!!

Super proud of all the students for their hard work!! Also, so grateful to work with teachers who lift up and support the arts!!! This year has been difficult but the arts have still found a way into the hearts of or young ones!!!

This past Thursday we were joined by Anthony and Lily Nguyen of The Smoky Nights!

They did a terrific job playing for the kids and showing us their awesome vocal harmonies!!

Can’t wait to see them play in Janesville in July!!!

Had a blast with my brother in-law, Robert Auler, who is a piano professor at SUNY OSWEGO in New York. It was so fun to watch him play and show us the ins and out of his piano!!

Here are some pictures I took when Beth Kille came in to present for the kids. Beth did a great job and it was super cool to hear about the girls rock camp that she runs up in Madison!!!

We had Jacob Schmidt visit our 5th graders back in March. Jacob did a great job singing for the kids and telling us about his musical experiences!

We also had a lot of fun having him sing in different languages and having students guess the language! They did pretty good!!!

Got a bit behind after spring break but will be posting more pics and videos from our 5th grade virtual artis series shortly. They’ve all been wonderfu!!!

Really great opportunity to hear a duo and watch them play together - we call it “having a conversation through music”! Great improvisations and wonderful insight!

Absolutely awesome presentation today by Jon Petronzio, aka “ROADMAN”. Every week has been so unique and interesting! Can’t wait to see what the other presenters have in store for us!

These musicians have been so gracious in sharing their music and experiences with the 5th graders here at Kennedy! We’ve gotten to hear amazing performances, check out their unique studio spaces, and see/hear some of their really cool music gear!

Next week we will be joined by bassist Jeff Weiss and maybe a special guest 😊.
