ARE YOU A FAN OF TIME WARP TUESDAYS?

If so, you can have your own little history marathon -- now that the School District of Janesville has loaded ALL OF ITS YEARBOOKS onto the new website!

That's right -- yearbooks from Joseph A. Craig High School, Parker High School - Janesville, WI ... even Janesville High School! You can check them all out, flip through pages, even search for specific pages in a special menu in each book.

Digitizing our yearbook library was a big job, and we couldn't be happier with the way it all turned out. Please take some time to go back in time and share your opinions on this new option at https://www.janesville.k12.wi.us/about-us/digitalized-yearbooks.

Just another spectacular job of reciting the Pledge of Allegiance by three of our amazing School District of Janesville students!

Tuesday night, Lincoln Elementary School Principal Rachel Bynum introduced three Lincoln Lions -- fifth-graders Hailey Rumppe and Dallas Andersen and fourth-grader Kinslee Andersen -- during the regular Janesville School Board meeting. The girls did a truly stellar job!

Great job, Hailey, Dallas and Kinslee! Keep up the great work! It was a pleasure having you join us!

IT'S KTD WEDNESDAY ... WITH TARAH THOMPSON!

The School District of Janesville is fortunate to have outstanding employees who make a huge difference in the lives of our students, whether it be as teachers, paraprofessionals, counselors, food service workers, custodians, coaches and more!

But the SDJ has nearly 1,500 employees, so getting to know each one would be just shy of impossible.

In an effort to familiarize you with at least some of our amazing staff members, we offer this ongoing series of interview pieces collectively known as "Know The District."

New interviews will be posted to the district website every other Wednesday during the school year.

Today, we introduce you to Tarah Thompson, the school social worker at Monroe Elementary School and Van Buren Elementary School. Here, she talks about her first job, where she would like to travel and what piece of advice she wishes she could share with her 18-year-old self!

The School District of Janesville is actively seeking people interested in part-time work as SPECIAL EDUCATION BUS PARAPROFESSIONALS.

Special Education Bus Paraprofessionals ride buses to and from school each day with students to ensure safety, monitor behavior and provide any necessary support. These critical positions provide not only a sense of reward for those seeking limited hours but also an hourly wage of $16.72!

Currently, the district has three positions available -- two for 5.5 hours per day and one for 6 hours per day.

To apply online, visit https://wecan.waspa.org/Employer/Vacancy/PublicSupport/3276. For more information, contact SDJ Human Resources Generalist Nichole Conaway at [email protected] or call 608-743-5024.

Tuesday night marked the first Janesville School Board meeting since the start of the 2026-27 school year -- meaning it was time to meet this year's student presenters from Joseph A. Craig High School and Parker High School - Janesville, WI!

This year's presenters are, from left: Chase Chamberlin of Parker, Chloe Glissendorf of Parker, Macy Mills of Parker, Nevaeh Johnson of Craig and Jake Duffy of Craig.

The school board truly appreciates these students checking in at each meeting to keep members aprised of what is going on in their respective schools!

The value the School District of Janesville places on the relationship between itself and the residents of our community cannot be overstated.

In an effort to share some insight into key issues facing the school district today, a series of short videos featuring SDJ Superintendent Mark Holzman has been posted over the past several weeks on SDJ social media channels. Our thanks to the folks at Forward Janesville who funded these videos to provide valuable information to our community at large.

In this final video, Superintendent Holzman talks about the role the district's relationships with Studer Education and Forward Janesville have played in advancing its educational mission.

To see all of the videos presented in the past six weeks, visit the SDJ YouTube page at https://www.youtube.com/

👶 HEY … I KNOW THAT KID!

Before they were teachers, principals, paraprofessionals, custodians, coaches and colleagues, they were just kids — sporting toothless grins, questionable haircuts and some seriously adorable baby faces.

Each Monday through the school year, we'll dig into the School District of Janesville's "baby book" to share photos of four staff members from their younger days.

Think you know these tots turned SDJ staff members? Here is a hint for each one -- so put on your thinking cap, study those little faces and drop your guesses in the comments!

1. The one at Edison Middle School who teaches sixth-graders how to get it WRITE.
2. The one at Parker High School - Janesville, WI who helps students make MEMORIES.
3. The one Joseph A. Craig High School who always has her eye on the BALL.
4. The one at Joseph A. Craig High School who always has something COOKIN'.

You've got six days to figure it all out before we identify these scholarly sprouts and introduce you to a new crop of four to figure out. And be sure to look in the comments below for the identities of last week's "kids."

Good luck!
