A little history: In 1969, a group of concerned citizens formed the Janesville Community Day Care Center, Inc. It was housed in the basement of First Lutheran Church where 38 children were enrolled the first year. History
In 1969, a group of concerned citizens formed the Janesville Community Day Care Center, Inc. (JCDC), as the first day care center in the area. It was housed in the basement of First Lutheran Church where 38 children were enrolled the first year. Today, the center is located at 3103 R***r Ave with an enrollment of 130 children ages 2 to 9 years old. The center offers a full day educational child care program provided by professionals who have been on staff an average of 8 plus years.
The center is proud of our National Association for the Education of Young Children accreditation status, and being a 5 Star provider (YoungStar Wisconsin Child Care Rating System).
In 1973, the center started receiving funding from the United Way. Today, the center continues to be a United Way Blackhawk Region Funded Partner. Scholarships are available for families who are in need of quality child care, but struggle to pay the tuition. Scholarship applications are available upon request.
The center has a collaboration with the Janesville School District to provide 4 year old kindergarten, referred to as P4J (Preschool 4 Janesville).
