New Year, New PTA: Less "Work," More Fun! 🚀

We know life is busy, so we are remodeling the Jefferson Elementary School PTA for the 2026-2027 school year to make helping out easier and more flexible for everyone!

What’s Changing?

Virtual Meetings: We are moving our monthly meetings to virtual (Google Meet) at 6:00 PM so you can join right from your couch.

"Bite-Sized" Volunteering: No more endless commitments. We are launching Event Committees (like Glow BINGO or Teacher Appreciation). You can sign up to help with just one specific event that you love, and you're done!

We Need Leaders to Steer the Ship!
To make this new, streamlined system work, we need a full leadership team. We are currently looking to fill:

🔹 Vice President: To support the president and help guide our new committee leads.

and the possibility of a:

🔹 President / Co-Presidents: To help oversee the calendar and keep the vision moving forward.

Note: Since our Treasurer works right here in the school building, you will have tons of daily, on-site support!

Whether you want to lead the board, run a single event committee, or just log into a 30-minute virtual meeting, any level of help is welcome. Look for more information coming your way this Fall!

Get Ready for a Totally 90's Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week! 🎸🍎

Dear Jefferson Elementary Families,
It’s time to party like it’s 1999! We are thrilled to announce that Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week is happening from May 4–8, 2026. This year, we’re taking a trip back in time with our "Totally 90's" theme to shower our incredible educators and staff with the appreciation they deserve.

🗓️ Weekly Itinerary
We have a fly lineup of daily activities planned, and we’d love for your students to join in the fun! Please note that these are all optional suggestions:

Monday (Pump Up the Jam Breakfast): Start the week off right by bringing in a fresh coffee, a coffee gift card, or a morning treat for your teacher.
Tuesday (Dress Up Tuesday): Students can dress up in their teacher’s favorite color or rock some fun 90s attire.
Wednesday (Throwback Wednesday): Help make our teachers smile by filling out the premade cards and handing them out to staff around the building.
Thursday (Totally Tubular Thursday): High-five any teacher you see in the hallways to spread those good vibes.
Friday (Fresh Friday): Bring in your teacher’s favorite snack as a way to say thanks for everything they do.

Our PTA is excited to support a DonorsChoose project for our school: Reading Is a Treat! (Book Vending Machine) — and we need your help to bring it to life!

Imagine a book vending machine right in our school, giving students the chance to “purchase” books with tokens earned for positive behavior, hard work, and kindness. It’s a fun and meaningful way to **promote a love of reading** and celebrate the amazing things our kids do every day! 📖✨

💙 **Great News:**
Right now, **all donations are being matched at 50%** — your contribution goes *even further*!

🎉🏃‍♂️🌈 Tomorrow is the big day — our Jefferson PTA Color Fun Run! 🌈🏃‍♀️🎉

Bring the whole family out for an evening of fun, food, and community! Here’s what you need to know:

✨ Event Details:
• Race begins at 6:00 PM
• Jefferson students run free! Kids not currently enrolled can join for $5 (with a signed waiver from a parent/guardian).
• All kids must be accompanied by an adult.
• T-shirts will be available for $10 at the event.

🎶🍧🎪 Activities & Fun:
• Food trucks + Luke’s Shaved Ice
• Bouncy Houses (please keep a close eye on your children)
• Yard games & music to keep the fun going!

⚠️ Important Reminder:
We want this to be safe and fun for everyone. Kids who are caught messing with the colors or event items may be asked to leave.
