Ok … ending the year on a banger. 7th grade 2D was a fun class to take on this semester, and doing oil pastels with them was great! We studied stained glass and then they incorporated a cartoon character into some sort of original “stained glass” styled piece. The kids liked it and really stepped up in completing them!

I love this project. Ever year the 8th graders tweak it a little, but “Felt Carnivorous Plants” are a great way to end the year!

I’m always impressed with the 6th graders and their mythological creatures, but these are exceptional! Sculpture wise, but also their painting!! We emphasize shading and tonal changes, this group crushed it!

7th grade “Pant Pots”!! These turned out well this year! Always fun the unique ways kids make them interesting!

Small group of 8th graders this semester, but I got a handful of successful “Witch Huts”. I appreciate the quirkiness of how these turn out, some of that’s intentional and some is not 🤙

Probably the most difficult project I have any of my classes do. Drawing realistic faces is hard. Water coloring is really hard as you are learning the process. Very impressed with the effort and resilience of these 7th graders with their “Monster Inside” projects! (Forgive the weird lighting from the display case 🤪🤦♂️)

6th grade “Stonehenge” projects! Lots of great drawings this round! Excited to see what this group of kids does in the next couple of years in art!

Really impressed with the crop of 7th grade paper mache “Wild Things”! Lots of creativity and well constructed projects!

I’m teaching a section of 7th grade 2D this semester and our first project was carving easy-cut and printing a shoe they drew, and then coloring using particular color schemes … adding additional flair was encouraged. I think they turned out pretty cool!

8th grade sculpted paper aliens … 🙌
