Rock Prairie Montessori School-Official Page News and events at Rock Prairie Montessori School Rock Prairie Montessori School (RPMS) is a non-profit school that began in 1994.

Located between Janesville and Milton on ten beautifully wooded acres, RPMS continues to provide quality Montessori education for families. RPMS operates as a child-centered school in accordance with the Montessori Method; encouraging the development of every child to his or her maximum potential. Parents are given the opportunity to be a part of their child’s education through volunteer opportunities and parent education programs. RPMS is affiliated with the International Montessori Council (IMC) and The Montessori Foundation. All lead teachers are certified Montessori instructors. RPMS provides a free parent/child play group program for parents and their child age birth to 18 months. This class meets one day weekly during the school year under the instruction of a Montessori trained teacher. The programs at RPMS include a Toddlers' Program for ages 18 months to three years, a Children’s House Program for ages three to six years which includes Kindergarten. Our Lower and Upper Elementary Program for 1st - 6th graders and our Middle School program for adolescence in 7th and 8th grade. To meet the needs of working families, RPMS also offers before school care, after school care for ages 18 months through 6th grade. The school also offers 10 weeks of programing throughout the summer months.

We are looking for both Full-Time and Part-Time Spanish Teachers. Our ideal candidate can speak and write fluently in Spanish and can get students excited about learning the language in the classroom. The ideal candidate will be able to use a blend of Montessori and Spanish as a World Language curriculum that enables students to read and write in Spanish, as well as speak both formally and conversationally. Cultural studies should be integrated throughout the curriculum to give students perspective on the history and development of the language.

As we have our last day of school of the year today, we want to give our appreciation and best wishes to our retiring administrators: Ms. Martha Carver, Head of School, and Ms. Mary Kline, Director of Education. Their long tenure at Rock Prairie has provided a foundation that built a strong Montessori community. With their tireless dedication, wisdom and good humor they have helped our community grow and thrive, resulting in the 26-27 school year to have the highest enrollment of our school’s history. Congratulations to you both on your retirement.

We would in addition like to announce that Ms. Tracey Hall will serve as our new Head of School starting June 1! A well-versed Montessorian, Ms. Tracey has been a part of the RPMS faculty for the past 17 years. She began her time here as Toddler Lead teacher and Program Coordinator. She also helped develop and facilitated the Toddler Training program for new Montessori teachers through the Center for Guided Montessori Studies. In 2020, Ms. Tracey moved to a new educational level in our school where she implemented and taught our adolescent program (grades 7-8), including building the curriculum and intersession experiences. We are excited for her to build on our success!

We look forward to seeing some of you in our summer school program, and many more in the Fall for the new school year. Enjoy the summer!

This is our last day for our Bids 4 Kids online silent auction, ending promptly at 8 pm. Before we end, we want to thank all of our donors including our sponors, Hope Robbins and Summit Accounting, as well as all of our bidders! Today is the day! Our Bids 4 Kids online silent auction is now officially open, ending tomorrow (Saturday, 4/25) at 8pm. Bid on a variety of items donated from our Rock Prairie families and businesses, both local and some just a hop, skip a jump away. Our own staff has donated to a huge "Our Favorite Things" basket that has games, beauty items, drinks, nature, food stuffs and SO MUCH MORE! Discover who our staff members are through their favorite items, which enjoying a large variety of products from every category.

We also invite you to start your day off right with your choice of expresso, latte or cappuccino with a Chefman Cafemaster Pro Espresso Machine. The Cafemaster has the capability for single or double shot brewing, and features a built-in milk frother and large, 1.8 Liter water reservoir. The Java Joy bundles comes with 3 bags of coffee, 2 mugs and 4 ready-to-drink coffee treats!

Summer will be here soon and we have a few auction items that will help you take advantage of the great outdoors! Our first is a Blackstone XL Bronco griddle with cabinet - a must have for making all your favorite foods. For those that love to tailgage, we have a mini charcoal grill, complete with charcoal, grilling tools and a $50 gift card to Festival Foods to help complete your shopping list. Finally, we have an 8' Intex snapset pool that comes with 4 water plasters and summer-themed tote bag. Donations from the Sanwick Family, Festival Foods, Shekhani Family and Vicky Bellrichard.

Today is Earth Day, and we are featuring two of our Bids 4 Kids silent auction baskets that focus on nature. The first is our For the Birds bundle, featuring Triumph brand HD binoculars, Lego 834 piece Kingfisher set, and Wisconsin Birdwatching Field Guide. The Back to Nature basket includes a national parks book, "Tree Hugging" pocket book, lotion, vanilla pumpkin candle, shea butter doap, bath bombs, soy lotion, beeswax hand salve, and Mayana "kitchen sink" chocolate bar. Thank you to the Potter and Markestad families for the donations!

We have 3 days left before our Bids 4 Kids online silent auction, and continue our daily posting of auction items with today focusing on car care. Evansville Ford has generously donated two certificates to our auction: one is for an oil change that includes an inspection and tire rotation. The other is for a premium car detail that includes HAND wash, cleaning of windows in and out, vacuum entire vehicle, cleaning of dashboard/console/trim, remove/clean floormats, clean/dress tires, steam clean carpets, and wax buffing. What better way to get ready for car trips and summer fun than a thorough car cleaning!

We are only 5 days out from beginning our online Bids 4 Kids silent auction, and continue our daily posting of featured auction items. Being a school, it is no surprise we have some educational experiences in our list of bidding items, including 2 admissions to the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium in Dubuque, Iowa. There is so much to see and do there, that the whole family will be entertained!

Our next item is a bundle including two admissions to the Milwaukee Public Museum and Planetarium with two free admissions. (Not valid for Daniel M. Soref Dome Theater or special exhibitions/events.
