Searching! Not clearing. We are searching to prove spaces are occupied, not “clearing” to prove they are empty. “Clearing” a structure has no expectation of discovery. And it inherently drives unnecessary speed. Work CQB to find what you are looking for, from the best position.

Words matter. Unnecessary talk like narrating inconsequential items that are in a room before we enter or yelling, “Clear, coming out,” or “Short room,” can give a false sense of control and outcomes. There are also thought processes that can be hindered or clogged by antiquated and legacy CQB procedures and automatic phrases. Less is more. Commonality in problem-solving is a must. 
-They know you are coming
-They are hidding everywhere
-They are always armed

How does your team train CQB? Do you pressure test your techniques? Are they principle based? We talk about this in depth at unit training and in our courses.
