Yearbooks are in! The yearbook staff will be handing out the '25-'26 yearbook on Tuesday, September 1st and Thursday, September 3rd. Students are asked to please pick it up from the Jay's Nest in the cafeteria. If students have a sibling who ordered a yearbook and has since graduated, please pick up their yearbook as well.

Parents, if you would like to pick up a yearbook for a former JHS student, they will be in the JHS Office beginning Friday, September 4.

No Bad Days: Hunter Pinke will speak with all JHS students. Hunter was a UND Fighting Hawks football player. While in college, Hunter endured a horrific accident that drastically changed his life, and he will share his message with all JHS and Blue Jay Academy students and staff.

11 returning Blue Jays had perfect attendance last spring semester. Perfect attendance means no absences or lates—these students weren't sick, didn't have appointments, weren't late to class, etc. Student Activities are excused and do not count against students. Each student received a certificate and a fast lane lunch pass for the entire semester where they get to go to front of the line.

We also had two students that had a PERFECT '25-'26 school year—pretty awesome! After achieving a classwide 95% attendance goal last year, JHS set a goal of 96% attendance this year. Way to go, Blue Jays!

Why do we start at 9 a.m. on Wednesday? Wednesday mornings are an opportunity for our JHS teachers to collaborate in Professional Learning Communities. They work together to plan instruction, analyze student achievement, and develop learning opportunities that engage and challenge students. Students can also use the student support time at the end of the day to work with teachers and get more individualized instruction.

Mr. Heinert, Mr. Bata, Mrs. Eckart, and Mr. Roaldson held class meetings today. They celebrated JHS Choice Ready and academic success, set goals for this year’s graduating class, explained handbook changes, talked about attendance policies, noted opportunities available in activities and the JVCTC, and they shared a video about JHS expectations created by our own JHS Student Council.
