Chautauqua Christian Academy (CCA ) is a private K-12 Christian school that strives for academic excellence in preparing students for college and careers. Chautauqua Christian Academy was formerly Bethel Baptist Christian Academy (BBCA), which began in 1976 as a commitment by Bethel Baptist Church to provide families in the Chautauqua County area with a school offering a quality Christian educatio
n. BBCA opened its doors in 1976 with 14 students in grades K through 3. A grade was added each year, culminating with the addition of Grade 12 in 1985. Chautauqua Christian Academy is now independent from Bethel Baptist Church and has been reorganized into a Christ-centered, parent-led, community ministry. The CCA school board will be representative of the parents and families from local Bible-believing, Christ-honoring, evangelical churches in our community. Chautauqua Christian Academy is registered with New York State as a private, Christian school, as was BBCA. The 2021-2022 school year will be the first year of operation for CCA. CCA offers a full-size gymnasium with facilities and outdoor athletic fields. The educational program of any Christian school is of primary concern to families. CCA has an on-going commitment to provide a curriculum that is God-centered and academically challenging. All classes are taught in a traditional classroom setting using curriculum from primarily Bob Jones University, Purposeful Design, and Abeka. Students annually take achievement tests to measure their accomplishments during the year and to provide the school with a measure of the quality of the instructional program. CCA firmly presents that all truth belongs to God. Students are encouraged to know the regenerating power of Christ individually and to allow the leading of the Holy Spirit in their lives, they are able to acquire true knowledge. Developing a Christian mindset and perspective is the principle goal of the entire instructional program. The academic program is enhanced by a wide range of special activities. Supplemental academic help may be available to students through a variety of avenues. Special classes for various grades include foreign language, computer, library, gym, yearbook, music, choir, and art. Our High School Bible classes also do community service projects throughout the year. This list is improved each year according to the abilities present in the staff. During the year there are field trips, special assemblies, “School Spirit” days, interscholastic sports including volleyball, soccer, and basketball. Each of these special items supplement the classroom experience at CCA. The Administration, teachers, and staff of CCA are all born-again believers. Most of all, each staff member sees their occupation as ministry to young people. The staff seeks to make a positive impact for Christ as they encounter students during the school day, at school activities and in their various local churches and community. All full-time staff members are required to have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university. Many teachers hold advanced college degrees and are certified (or certifiable) by various state and national educational associations. A definite strength of the CCA program is small class size. This allows the teachers to go beyond basic education and encourage students in areas of special interest and to influence the students spiritually, socially, and emotionally.
