Your hands-on conduit bending and fiber optic demonstrations brought the trades to life for the students. From guiding school groups throughout the day to helping break everything down at the end, your time, effort, and professionalism made a lasting impact.

What an incredible day at our 2026 Building & Construction Trades Career Fair!

Union trade representatives came together to showcase the opportunities and advantages of careers in construction and apprenticeship programs. We were excited to host more than 230 students from 11 local schools who came out to explore their futures in the trades!

Our 2026 Job Fair is under way.

We would like to start off by giving a huge thank you to our local signatory contractors BECC Electric of Fredonia and Kel-Kur Electric of Olean for their generous donation of goodies to support our job fair! 👏

Because of your support, we’re able to create a welcoming and engaging experience for everyone who attends and a put a face to some of the NECA contractors that keep us working.

IBEW Local 106, along with the Southwestern New York Building and Construction Trades Council, is excited to host our 2026 Job Fair on Friday, April 24, 2026!

This hands‑on event gives those interested the chance to meet real professionals from the electrical, plumbing, ironworking, operating engineers, and other skilled trades. They’ll learn about apprenticeships, training, wages, benefits, and long‑term career opportunities — all in one place!

This week, our first- and second-year electrical apprentices along with their instructors had the opportunity to give back by volunteering their time at the Ashville Fire Department.

We’re proud of their dedication to service, teamwork, and supporting the communities where they live and work. A big thank-you to the Ashville Fire Department for welcoming our apprentices and all they do every day to keep the community safe.
