Good evening Jamestown Middle School Families. This is Dr. Vernon with a few important reminders for the upcoming week.
We have had a terrific first week of school. Thank you to each of you for making that happen.
As a reminder, buses and car rider lines are a little slow the first week but will continue to speed up each day. If your child is a car rider, you should have received a name card for your student which you can place in your window when you pick up. If your child hasn’t given this to you, make sure to ask them for it. As a continued reminder, please do not drop students off before 8:00. We do not have staff to supervise your child before this time. All students should be picked up from school by 3:50. Also, safety is our top priority. As such, please follow all traffic signs and patterns. Pulling around traffic or trying to drive into oncoming lanes causes a dangerous situation for our students as well as our parents and staff. We also ask that students not be dropped off at the nearby school or in the surrounding neighborhood and then asked to walk to school. This creates a dangerous situation for students.
7th Grade Parents – as a friendly reminder regarding immunizations. In accordance with state law, students must provide documentation of receiving MCV and Tdap vaccines at the start of the 7th grade year. These are required within the first 30 days of school. Both vaccines are available at your family’s doctor or by appt at the Guilford County Department of Public Health Services.
Girls volleyball and boys soccer get started on Thursday of this week at home against Lincoln Middle School.
