It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of JHS A Ca****la Choir alumnus Anthony "Tony" Dolce.
Tony was a proud member of the Jamestown High School A Ca****la Choir, but his dedication to the JHS choral program extended far beyond his years as a student. As a parent, advocate, and leader of JHS student organizations, he worked tirelessly to ensure that the A Ca****la Choir remained an integral part of the school's traditions. Through his efforts, the choir continued to perform at cherished JHS events, including Battle of the Classes, the Penny Wars Assembly, Baccalaureate, and Graduation.
Tony spoke proudly of his years in A Ca****la under the direction of Donald B. Bubè. He was a familiar face in Room 50, often stopping by not just to visit, but to sing with the current choir, share stories, and remind students that they were part of a tradition much bigger than themselves. His passion for the history and legacy of A Ca****la was no secret, and he took great joy in passing that legacy on to each new generation.
Tony was, without question, an A Ca****la VIP. Alongside his family—Anne, Amelia (Class of 2017), and Christian (Class of 2019)—he remained one of the choir's most dedicated supporters, attending concerts, participating in alumni events, performing as a featured soloist, and celebrating every milestone. His love for the program never wavered.
His kindness, enthusiasm, and unending support left a lasting mark on the Jamestown High School community and on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His presence—in the audience, in the hallways of JHS, and especially in Room 50—will be deeply missed.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Anne, Amelia, Christian, and the entire Dolce family. Tony's legacy will continue to live on in the traditions he helped preserve and in every future generation of JHS A Ca****la singers.
A Ca****la Alumni - As tribute to Tony a community choir is being formed to sing two familiar songs Saturday at his funeral. A rehearsal will be held at 6:30 pm Thursday in SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. All singers are welcome. There will be no better way to usher Tony into heaven than by raising our voices in song.
