Show your support for people with disabilities by becoming a member of The Resource Center. It's just $10, and you'll get a Membership Card entitling you to discounts at 40+ businesses.

UPDATE: We’ve made great progress since yesterday, picking up 32 new Members. Now we only need 43 more to reach our goal. Can we count on you?

Membership in The Resource Center is open to anyone 18 years of age or older who believes in our mission of supporting people with disabilities to enjoy great lives. When you become a member, you strengthen our ability to advocate for the rights, supports and services that people with disabilities rely on every day.

Membership dues are just $10 per year. As a thank-you for becoming a member, you’ll receive our TRC Membership Card. The card entitles you to enjoy discounts from about 50 area business partners who support The Resource Center and its mission.

We had a Laurel Run takeover of our Color Run this morning!

Wayne & Elaine Hotelling, the founders of the Laurel Memorial Run & Walk, aren’t able to attend tonight’s event. So instead, they drove from their Silver Creek home to do some laps around The Resource Center administrative building, which is one of the two course options for the Color Run.

Wayne is pictured here with Austin Mitchell, the lead organizer of the Color Run. Thank you, Wayne & Elaine, for showing your true colors and being the first people to complete the Color Run. We know you’ll be with us in spirit this evening!

Our dear friend Dory Smith Matwijkow has done it again!

Dory, whose son Austin receives supports from The Resource Center, is a professional pastry chef who regularly bakes cookies to support our mission. Dory’s cookies are so delicious, and her network of family and friends is so supportive of her, that this year they ordered a total of 82 boxes of her holiday cookies. So Dory was extremely busy in her kitchen last month!

She and her husband, John, stopped by the Felice Corporate Center recently to drop off the $3,500 Dory raised through her cookie sale. She’s pictured here standing between Steve Waterson, Community Relations Director, and Cindy Hitchcock, the Chief Executive Officer of Filling the Gap, Inc. – who is holding a box of cookies Dory saved for us!

We’re so grateful for everything Dory has done for us, and to all of her Austin’s Angels who support us through their support of Dory.

Congratulations to The GRACE Foundation of New York for setting a world record on World Autism Day!

With a Guinness World Records adjudicator on hand, an organization that provides services for individuals with autism sought to do something for the very first time, all in the name of awareness.
