This week our Freddy Falcon comes from 2nd grade in Mrs. Osborne's class. Mrs. Osborne says, "Kendall is a friend to all. She is a math wizard and is always challenging herself. Kendall loves to read and always helps her friends. She comes to school prepared and with a smile on her face. Kendall is a ray of sunshine and she brightens up the pod every day. Congratulations sweet Kendall Sheldon." Way to go!

For the last 26 years, M.J. Fletcher Elementary School teacher Kelly Orlando has cherished the opportunity to teach in her hometown. Her favorite part of the job?

"No two days with kids are ever the same, and every year is different as well. You learn to switch things up from year to year to find out what works best for you and your students. I love learning and laughing with my students every day."

The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education has approved the appointment of Michelle Trussalo as assistant principal of MJ Fletcher Elementary School. Trussalo, a longtime district teacher, will begin her appointment on July 1, 2023!

Mr. Leone says, “Madison, a remarkable fourth-grade student, consistently demonstrates excellence both academically and personally. As a diligent and hardworking individual, she consistently goes above and beyond what is asked of her, ensuring her assignments are completed thoroughly and thoughtfully. Madison's unwavering commitment to doing the right thing and her innate sense of responsibility make her a role model for her peers. In the classroom, she actively participates in discussions, bringing insightful contributions that enhance the learning experience for everyone. Madison's compassionate nature shines through in her willingness to help others, offering her time and support to classmates who may need assistance or encouragement. This week our Freddy falcon comes from 4th grade and was nominated by Mrs. Helt. Mrs. Helt says, “River comes to small group reading and math everyday ready to try her best. She is a hard worker and she uses the strategies taught in small group. She really listens and applies what she has learned. River has a positive attitude and is helpful to her peers when needed. I'm so proud of you River! Keep up the great work!!” Awesome job, River Heath!

In celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month, students in Ms. O'Dell's class created a project focusing on how they are all special in their own way. During the project students discussed how they were feeling and how to describe their emotions.

She treats everyone with kindness and respect. She gives me so much hope for our future knowing that she will most definitely make a difference. These are the reasons that I chose Bridgett McIntyre for the Freddy Falcon award. I am so proud of her and how gracefully she handles any challenge she encounters.
