JPS Families: We have been informed that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will conduct a nationwide Emergency Alert System and Wireless Emergency Alert test on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at approximately 2:20 p.m. The test includes sending a "test message" to all televisions, radios and cell phones. All powered on cellphones within range of a cell tower will receive a test alert message as part of FEMA’s nationwide test of its Integrated Public Alert and Warning System.

Your children attended an assembly with Mr. Money on Friday and saw our awesome school principal Mrs. Johnson try out the money machine! It was FANTASTIC! If your child sells 25 + items they too, will have an opportunity to “catch some money” in the flying Monday machine. Each child who earns the opportunity in the money machine is guaranteed $25-. Please help your child’s school and do the best you can ❤️❤️. Every few items your child sells will also earn them fun prizes. Who doesn’t love a prize?

The classrooms are nice and shiny thanks to our Custodial Crew, the walls are covered with positive messages, and we are all sending you and yours many smiles and hugs for the rest of your summer. The FACE committee at Love Elemenary have created a “Wishing Shamrock.” The wishes students bring in are read each morning on the announcements and then the wish is posted in the wall. We will be reading and posting wishes all through the month of March.

It’s Friday which means it’s desk pet shop day in Mrs. Vetter’s class! Students earn pennies for positive behavior throughout the week. On Friday’s they have to count and organize their money into 5 groups, trade their pennies for nickels and dimes, and then choose what they want to spend their money on for their desk pets or if they’ll save their money! Students think it’s all fun but they’re learning valuable counting and money skills. Great job Mrs. Vetter’s class!

Jamestown Public Schools is now accepting pre-registration for universal pre-kindergarten (UPK) for the 2023-24 school year. The district has two free UPK programs: UPK 3 and UPK 4. Eligible students are children who reside in Jamestown and will be ages 3 or 4 by December 1, 2023.
