Before our competitors take the national stage this week in Atlanta, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible accomplishments that brought them here.
Our students represented Thomas A. Edison CTE High School with excellence at the New York State SkillsUSA Conference, earning a Gold Chapter Excellence Award and bringing home medals across a wide range of technical and leadership competitions.
Today, we begin the next chapter of the journey.
As our national competitors prepare to test their skills against the best students from across the country, we ask our Edison family, alumni, industry partners, and supporters to join us in wishing them good luck.
Your hard work, dedication, and countless hours of preparation have already made us proud. Now it’s time to showcase your talents on the national stage.
Drop a comment below to wish our competitors good luck as they represent Edison, New York State, and NYC CTE this week in Atlanta.
Let’s show them some support! 👇
Edison SkillsUSA attended the 4th Annual Queens Tech & Career Expo, hosted by Donovan Richards Jr. and the Queens Borough President’s Office at the New York Hall of Science.
Our students had the opportunity to engage with industry partners, explore career pathways in technology driven by AI, and compete in a Hackathon.
🏆 1st Place Hackathon Winners — awarded HP laptops for their achievement.
Students also had the chance to network with Donovan Richards Jr. and Ebony Young, while participating in hands-on activities led by partners such as Drone Cadets, New York Power Authority, Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and the New York State Department of Civil Service.
In addition, students had full access to explore the New York Hall of Science and connect with industry personalities like HipHopGamer.
This is what CTE looks like in action—real experiences, real exposure, and real opportunities.

This one flew under the radar… A moment we never got around to sharing.
Our IT Networking students stepped out of the lab and into the shop, collaborating with our Collision and Refinishing program at Thomas A. Edison CTE High School.
Collision students led the experience, teaching hands-on skills including:
• Detailing a vehicle
• Mixing and applying body filler
• Sanding down to bare metal
• Spraying paint in a professional booth
This is what CTE looks like when programs come together. Students learning from students, building real skills, and gaining exposure beyond their pathway.
More experiences like this coming soon.

Today, our members from the Cybersecurity and IT Networking pathways took over the Data Center at the Tower for an unforgettable day of hands-on learning!
Students toured the data center, explored real-world network infrastructure, and even went to the top of the tower to see point-to-point satellite ISPs in action.
An incredible experience for our future IT and cyber professionals, learning at the highest level (literally!). Thank you to our partners at Sabey for this amazing day!
