Earlier this spring semester, students of Dr. Heidi Upton’s FYS class volunteered with The Compost Collective and assisted in completing gardening and composting for our local community. Within this service, students were able to learn more about sustainable gardening and the importance of repurposing food scraps and waste to create an environment that is purposeful and organic. This opportunity provided an excellent and informative avenue for students to learn the importance of a balanced ecosystem and learn more about the nature in our local community!
