Neighborhood School, JP Personalized learning within a community Neighborhood School (NS) is an independent school in Jamaica Plain, MA.

Started by parents and teachers with just 7 children in 1986, it has grown to include 60 students at 2 sites with students ages 4-12, grouped into 4 mixed-age classroom or levels. Mixed ages ensure that students have different positions in a level's age continuum from year to year and help create an atmosphere of normalcy for many layers of learning to happen simultaneously.

Murals coming to life, a night at the museum, and a wish-granting treasure map….

The K-6th grade students of Neighborhood School have created a full-length play that explores what it means to build a thriving city. Come connect to the problems and joys that children face, and experience how we can all be empowered to make change in our own city. Neighborhood School strives to exist in deep connection with our city and ecosystem. You are an invaluable member of our community. Thank you.
