πŸŽ† Fireworks Safety Awareness Series πŸŽ†

As you celebrate this Fourth of July, remember to be considerate of those around you.

The loud noise created by fireworks can be stressful for pets, disruptive to neighbors, and especially difficult for individuals living with PTSD or other noise sensitivities.

Being mindful of when and where you use consumer fireworks can help make the holiday safer and more enjoyable for everyone in your community.

πŸŽ† Fireworks Safety Awareness SeriesπŸŽ†

As we wrap up our Fireworks Safety Awareness Series, remember that fireworks are not toysβ€”they must be handled with care, respect, and responsibility.

This video highlights several important safety tips, including:
βœ… Light only one firework at a time and immediately step back
βœ… Use a long lighter or lighting punk to maintain a safe distance
βœ… Keep spectators at least 25 feet away from fountains and 100 feet or more from aerial fireworks
βœ… Always wear eye and ear protection
βœ… Place fireworks on a flat, firm surface before lighting
βœ… Keep a garden hose or water source nearby
βœ… Place used sparklers in a bucket of water, as they remain hot after use
βœ… Store fireworks in a cool, dry location and always out of reach of children

Taking a few simple precautions can help prevent injuries and ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration for everyone.

As fireworks season reaches its busiest time, protecting your firework crew from heat illness is more important than ever.

We’re proud to introduce the first edition of the AmeriSafety Safety Bulletin Series: Heat Illness Prevention for Firework Crews.

This bulletin provides practical guidance on:
β€’ Recognizing the signs and symptoms of heat illness
β€’ Implementing effective prevention strategies
β€’ Understanding OSHA’s proposed Heat Injury and Illness Prevention Rule

We encourage you to review it with your crew, share it with your team, and make heat safety part of your daily operations.

At AmeriSafety, our mission is to provide practical resources that help keep the pyrotechnics industry safeβ€”one crew, one show, and one community at a time.

Stay safe, stay hydrated, and have a successful fireworks season.

πŸŽ† Fireworks Safety Awareness Series πŸŽ†

Before using consumer fireworks, take time to understand the regulations in your community.

Requirements can vary from one municipality to another, so be sure to check with your local fire department to determine whether consumer fireworks are permitted and whether any permits are required.

Being a responsible fireworks user means knowing your community's rules and respecting your neighbors while celebrating.
