LEGACY TRAINING (LT) was conceived to inspire pride in rhe HERITAGE of students from the underserved communities protected by P.L. 95-507. LT will encourage them to pursue careers in public service and entrepreneurship. The initial emphasis will be HISPANIC Culture'
LT is unique in that it is focused on teaching hands-on skills - as opposed to theory - through the success of a selected group of successful Hispanic Leaders who have overcome hardships and adversity to become Icons in their community.
One arena LT will highlight is Public Procurement, a $3 Trillion national Marketplace riddled with BARRIERS that restrict the participation of Hispanics, Veterans, Women, Blacks and Native American small businesses.
Research by the FPA Think Tank has shown that - during the last 25 years - the Federal Government has lost 25 % of its small business suppliers on account of the BARRIERS jn the bureocracy..
One solution LT will be promoting is for States and Local governments to begin tracking contracting results. This solution will prevent abuse, avoid costly DISPARITY STUDIES which are designed to detect discrimination and abuse and help provide better management of public contracts. FPA Commissioner, Raul Espinosa, said, "One cannot manage results when they are
not tracked."
LEGACY TRAINING (LT) intends to make a difference in the space through its goal to "double the number of underserved small businesses doing business with the Federal, State and Local Governments by 2035."
