Our Staff Spotlight series continues with Sgt. Matthew Langley of the University Police Department.

A Jacksonville native and Jax State graduate, Langley has spent more than two decades serving the campus community, first as a student security officer and now as patrol supervisor. Throughout his career, he has helped keep Jax State safe while building lasting relationships with students, faculty, and staff.

The Randy Owen Center for the Performing Arts officially opened its doors with an unforgettable sold-out celebration honoring Jax State alumnus, country music legend, and ALABAMA frontman Randy Owen.

Surrounded by friends, fellow artists, and some of the biggest names in country music, Randy was surprised with a once-in-a-lifetime tribute recognizing his extraordinary impact on music, philanthropy, and Jacksonville State University. From emotional performances to heartfelt stories, the evening was a powerful reminder of the legacy Randy has built and the lives he continues to inspire.
