Happy First Day of School! We treated our staff to a soda bar because we think they’re “soda”-lightful. Our treasurer Crystal also brought in some sweet treats to share since it is her birthday. Staff loved to take a quick moment to indulge themselves between all the hustle and bustle of the first day.

We don’t know about you but this week has us not wanting to cook! Make it easy and join us at Burrito Shak - Jacksonville TOMORROW (8/25) between 5-8p to help support our PTO. All in store purchases help us earn 10% back to be able to continue treating our staff and students, and helping to enrich their learning at Northwoods Elementary. Crystal will be there with some mini cupcakes to keep the celebration going. We hope to see you out there!

Thank you That's it. and PTO Today for selecting us to receive a wealth of fruit bars! We gave these out during orientation and to our staff with the soda bar. We’ll have these yummy treats available during spirit night as well!

Tomorrow the family, friends, colleagues, and larger community will be honoring the life of retired Lieutenant James "XY" Brown with a celebration of life at 11 AM, River of Life Church, 2460 Gum Branch Road, and services to follow at Coastal Carolina Veterans Cemetery, 109 Montford Landing Road.

The processional route map is posted below. We do not anticipate any impacts to school arrivals or dismissals, but there will be some traffic delays between approximately 1 PM to 2 PM along this route.

If you plan to be along the route tomorrow, please be mindful to not block any roadways and that private businesses are still operating.

We appreciate everyone's patience as we come together to pay tribute to XY's lifetime of service and his legacy.

Did you miss us at orientation on Thursday? Don’t worry! Spirit shirts (youth and adult sizes for everyone in the family!) and popcorn passes can still be purchased. See our attached flyers/images and head on over to our online store at tinyurl.com/NWEPTOZeffy. We will also be sending home order forms for anyone that would prefer to pay in cash for a shirt or popcorn. Last day to order a spirit shirt will be 9/11/26! We won’t be doing another shirt sale until the second semester. Last day to buy a popcorn pass at the discounted price will be 9/16/26! Passes will still be available to purchase after 9/16 but won’t include any free bags of popcorn.

Thank you Mady with JMS Print and Press Designs for supporting our PTO and school and helping us out with our shirts! We’re very excited to offer them this year.
