New space for the Florida Blue Ethics Commons, coming in the fall 2026.

The Ethics Center’s “Ask an Ethicist” booth was featured at TEDx Jax today. Lots of great discussions.

TEDxJacksonville 2026: On the Edge is coming to the UNF campus this Saturday, Jan. 17 from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center’s Lazzara Performance Hall. This one-day conference will feature thought provoking talks on community revitalization and belonging, mindful aging, the future of work and leadership, environmental stewardship and more.

UNF’s own Dr. Josh Gellers, Faculty Fellow for AI, director of the Digital Humanities Institute and professor of political science, will deliver a timely talk on rights for non-human entities including AI, animals and nature and how a consistent ethical framework can help shape a better future.
Huge shout out to the Florida Blue Center for Ethics for bringing an interactive “Ask an Ethicist” engagement to the event, with UNF ethics professors and students onsite to explore real world ethical questions with attendees, a good chance to think together about navigating some of the many ethical issues we are facing here “on the edge.” Learn more and get tickets:

Saturday UNF and the Florida Blue Center for Ethics hosted the Southeast Regional Ethics Bowl with students from around the region critically discussion complex ethical issues.
