Winter Storm Fern is making its way through the majority of the contiguous United States. Forecasts indicate that as much as 2/3 of states may be adversely affected by the accompanying snow, ice, sleet, and freezing rain. The website listed below provides excellent information on being prepared for staying safe and warm when a storm like this hits.
The greatest concern in the East Texas area is the potential for .25"-.50" of ice. The weight of the ice on trees can cause branches/limbs to break. Should the damaged limbs fall on power lines, a significant disruption in the electrical supply can follow.
Power outages and unsafe road conditions MAY cause BMA Seminary to be closed or have delayed opening on Monday and/or Tuesday (January 26-27). BMATS follows the determination of our local school district regarding weather-related closures or delays. Please monitor our page for the latest information.
Protect your people. Protect your pets. Protect your pipes.
Check on your neighbors, particularly the elderly.
Stay warm. Stay safe.

"You are required to believe, to preach, and to teach what the Bible says is true, not what you want the Bible to say is true.” -R. C. Sproul

It is incredibly difficult to know what to think, say, or do in response to moments of unthinkable violence such as we saw yesterday (Charlie Kirk/School shooting) or a mass event like the one experienced 24 years ago. At a minimum, let us pray for our leaders to have wisdom and courage to do what is needed and right. Let us also pray that people will remember the words of Christ, that anger leads to murder, and repent of such in their lives.
