This summer we had a blast hosting camp at Seaside Community Charter Beach Campus! So thankful for Melissa Omeechevarria and Dylan Shanteau. We hope to continue our summer partnership for years to come. Good evening families,

Today in
Potions: Coke/mentos experiment
Creative snack: 'Happee Birthdae Harry' cupcakes
Care of Magical Creatures: cared for our dragon eggs
Practical Arts: tie dyed our shirts and finished our canvas paintings

Tomorrow's snack/ treat will be Butterbeer ice cream floats. We are excited to enjoy one last day with the kiddos ❤️

Good evening families,

Today in
Potions: we made Oobleck
Creative snack: we made S'mores (it took 2 min. and 7 seconds to melt our chocolate using the sun)
Herbology: created our mandrakes
Practical Arts: started our canvas paintings

Tomorrow's snack/ treat will be "Happee Birthdae Harry" cupcakes. We will also be splatter painting and tie dying shirts so please dress accordingly ❤️

Good evening families,

Today in
Potions: we made potions/ galaxy jars
Creative snack: we made chocolate frogs
Care of Magical Creatures: explored LIVE worms
Practical Arts: made squishies that were a little too squishy
Additionally, we made bracelets, freed a few more house elves, made another batch of fluffy slime (as a parent- I apologize. I encouraged kiddos to leave their slime AT camp with little success) and played ❤️.

Tomorrow's snack/ treat will be s'mores! Good news with the weather- we may only have to step outside to melt our chocolate and marshmallows 🙂 Please have campers wear their Jax Magical Adventures shirts tomorrow.

Good evening families,

I hope all the kids had a great first day of camp! I have plenty of pictures to share once I have a media release form from everyone.

Today in
Potions: we made fluffy slime
Creative snack: we made chocolate covered wands
Care of Magical Creatures: went on a sock hunt to free Dobby and all the other house elves
Practical Arts: Air dry clay creatures (that will come home tomorrow)
Additionally, we had time for free play, our sorting hat ceremony and the start of term feast.

Tomorrow's snack/ treat will be chocolate frogs! If possible, please have your camper wear their new shirt on Wednesday so we can get a group photo.

Welcome to Jax Magical Adventures Camp, where magic meets adventure!

My name is Ashley Curtis, and I am beyond excited to welcome you to a summer filled with wonder, friendship, and unforgettable experiences. With 15 years of teaching experience, I’ve had the joy of working with children from kindergarten through sixth grade, helping them grow, learn, and discover their own potential. Pair that with over 20 years of working at summer camps, and you could say that creating a place where kids thrive has always been my passion.

Running a camp of my own has been a lifelong dream, and with the inspiration of my three incredible kiddos—especially my imaginative 8-year-old—it became clear that a Harry Potter-themed camp would be the perfect way to bring magic to life! Guided by my love for the world of Hogwarts and the belief that every child has something truly special to offer, Jax Magical Adventures Camp is designed to be a child-centered space where young witches, wizards, and even Muggles alike can make lifelong friends, solve challenges, and discover their own magic within.

Whether it’s casting spells, exploring enchanted forests, or unlocking hidden talents, every camper will leave with cherished memories and a deeper belief in themselves. I can’t wait to embark on this adventure together—welcome to the magic!
