Dr. Ardalan Minokadeh brings a rare blend of scientific rigor and clinical artistry to SCALE's Scientific Advisory Board. A board-certified dermatologist and cosmetic dermatologic surgeon at Skin Care & Laser Physicians of Beverly Hills, his practice focuses on injectable therapeutics, neuromodulators, soft-tissue augmentation, and energy-based technologies.

Dr. Minokadeh has served as principal investigator and sub-investigator on multiple multicenter Phase 3 clinical trials, and holds editorial roles at Dermatologic Surgery, JAMA Dermatology, and the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.

At SCALE 2026, he shared that evidence-based approach in "The Male Face: Evidence-Based Approach to Neuromodulators and Fillers."

One of our favorite SCALE moments: attendees getting hands-on with live AI skin analysis tech on the exhibit floor — just one example of the innovation on display this year. From new product demos to real conversations with the companies shaping the future of aesthetics, the energy was unmatched.

Skin of color deserves specialized, evidence-based care — and at SCALE 2026, two sessions made that a priority. Dr. Andrew Alexis led "Comprehensive Approaches to Treating Melasma and Other Hyperpigmentation," while Dr. Mara Weinstein Velez shared "Tips and Tricks for Safely Treating Patients with Skin of Color" — both giving attendees practical, real-world strategies for treating patients who are too often underrepresented in dermatologic training and research.

Both Dr. Alexis and Dr. Weinstein Velez are true advocates for advancing care for patients of color, and sessions like theirs are exactly why representation in education matters.

Longevity medicine is one of the fastest-growing conversations in aesthetics — and Dr. Saranya P. Wyles is at the center of it. A board-certified dermatologist and regenerative medicine specialist at Mayo Clinic, she serves as Associate Professor of Dermatology and Regenerative Medicine and directs the Regenerative Dermatology and Skin Aging Laboratory, where she develops novel regenerative biotherapeutics and uses 3D bioprinting technology to model skin disease and aging. Her expertise has even landed her on the Today Show, bringing longevity science to a national audience.

At SCALE 2026, she brought that cutting-edge perspective to every session on regenerative breakthroughs, exosomes, and the future of longevity medicine.

As longevity medicine becomes the industry's next big frontier, this is expertise you don't want to miss. Register for SCALE 2027: https://bit.ly/4g05OHw

A lot of conferences run the same program year after year with rotating speakers. SCALE doesn't.

Co-founder Dr. Brian Biesman describes the SCALE program as a living organism — one that gets rebuilt, refined, and updated continuously to reflect where the evidence actually stands. If something was promising last year but hasn't panned out, it comes off the program. If a new therapy is generating real data, it goes on.

That's what 21 years of standards-driven programming looks like.

Facial fat grafting looks straightforward — until the complications show up months later. At SCALE, Dr. Mehrnoosh Heidarian pulled back the curtain on the hidden and under-estimated complications of facial fat grafting, giving attendees a clear-eyed look at the risks that don't always make it into the textbook.

This is the kind of session that changes how you approach a procedure, because knowing what can go wrong is just as important as knowing how to do it right.

Dr. Christopher Bunick brings a rare combination to SCALE: he's a practicing dermatologist and a structural biologist. As an Associate Professor of Dermatology and Translational Biomedicine at Yale University School of Medicine, Dr. Bunick specializes in general medical dermatology and dermatologic surgery — but his research goes far deeper, using x-ray crystallography and cryo-electron microscopy to study the three-dimensional structures of skin-related proteins. Dr. Bunick has pioneered a new focus in dermatology: connecting the atomic-level mechanisms of a therapy to its real-world clinical performance and safety.

At SCALE 2026, he led 4 sessions — from hand eczema management to a roundtable on drug selection in practice.
