Good Morning Jacksonville Commons Families,

This is Mr. Ehmann with our weekly call. We had an absolutely fabulous week with Honor Roll/Principal List lunches, 2 basketball games, and our Math Team winning 3 trophies for coming in 2nd as a team and 1st as an individual at the MathCounts Competition

This coming week, on Tuesday, we have our last home basketball game versus Swansboro.
On Thursday, our Math 1 students are competing at the Algebra competition at Coastal Carolina, and we have our last basketball game away at Hunter’s Creek Middle School. Also on Thursday evening, we have our Commons District AVID night, from 5-7 at Northside High School. Please do come out and learn more about AVID learning opportunities from our students.
On Friday afternoon, we have the 8th grade career fair, and the PBIS dance from 3:15 to 5, after school in our gym.

Also next week, we will be celebrating School Counseling Week with some Spirit Days. Monday’s theme is respect and we are dressing in Workout clothes. Tuesday is Nerd Day, where we are stressing perseverance in working hard and getting good grades. Wednesday is Career day, when we are dressing for success in professional attire. Thursday is Tie Dye Tolerance Day and Friday’s theme is Caring for Others and students can wear red.

Monday 2/6/17- WORKOUT DAY- Show your respect for your mind and body by dressing in exercise clothes.
Tuesday 2/7/17- NERD DAY- Show your perseverance that being smart and getting good grades are cool!
Wednesday 2/8/17- CAREER DAY- Show how responsible you can be by dressing for success. Dress as the profession you want to do when you are older.
Thursday 2/9/17- TIE DYE DAY- Be groovy with tolerance.
Friday 2/10/17- RED DAY- Show you care for your peers, teachers, and staff by wearing red.

Good Evening JCMS Families,

This is Mr. Ehmann with a special during the week call. Yesterday, your child went home with a paper describing our chocolate bar fundraiser that will take place over the next 3 weeks. This fundraiser is going towards important hands-on science equipment, PE equipment, and other classroom supplies that will improve instruction for your child.
In order for your child to participate, you would need to sign the agreement form that states your child may take home a box of 30 items of chocolate, that sell for $2 each, and that they would be responsible for returning the $60 to the school after it is sold. Upon returning the signed form, we will give them a box of chocolate to sell tomorrow.
These large World’s Finest Chocolates are delicious, easy to sell, and will help us make progress with teaching supplies at JCMS. We did use all of the money from our fall cookie dough fundraiser to purchase a school scoreboard. We hope you will do your best to help us move forward.

Today is the last day of the grading period!!

We also have Best Buy coming to celebrate PBIS Tech Day. They plan to share various technologies with our students that demonstrated positive behavior the 2nd 9 weeks.

There will be a National Junior Honor Society’s induction ceremony tonight at 6 pm in the Media Center.

There will also be a home basketball game against Dixon today.

There will be a home basketball game against NBMS tomorrow 1/12/2017. The girls will begin at 4:00 and the boys will follow afterwards. Be sure to go out and cheer our girls and boys basketball teams to victory

This is a reminder that There will be an Early College High School information session for students currently in Math 1 at JCMS. It is TONIGHT from 5:30pm-6:30pm in the media center
