🍎 “Every day is an adventure.”

For Jessica Mauch, that adventure begins each morning inside her second-grade classroom at Duval County Public Schools Normandy Village Elementary, where she teaches math and science while helping students become independent, confident learners.

A graduate of Frank H. Peterson Academies of Technology, Jessica returned to Duval County Public Schools to inspire a new generation. Now in her sixth year at Normandy Village, she says watching concepts finally click for her students is what makes the work so rewarding. 💡

“It’s so encouraging to see the students grow throughout the school year,” Jessica said. “That’s why I do it.”

For Debbie Ashenden, a connection to Alimacani Elementary turned into more than three decades of helping students learn, grow, and succeed.

Today, she's still helping students become confident, lifelong learners and celebrating those moments when learning finally clicks.

"I want them to love learning, and I want them to come and enjoy coming to school."

If you're looking for a career with purpose, connection, and the opportunity to make a difference every day, Team Duval may be your best decision yet.

For 25 years, Charlotte Crittendon has been helping Duval County students learn, grow, and succeed. What began as a substitute teaching position became a calling, and a career dedicated to meeting students where they are and helping them reach their potential.

These photos capture Charlotte during her time at Kernan Middle School. Today, she continues her commitment to student success at Bayview Elementary School.

"They're not just another number. You get to know them, what their needs are. You meet them where they are so you can help them be successful."

Charlotte's school may have changed, but her mission hasn't.

🍎 Teaching runs in Kimberly Cromer’s family. Her grandmother spent more than three decades teaching in Duval County. Her mother followed. Now Kimberly is carrying that legacy forward as a first year second grade teacher at Englewood Elementary Lambs.

“I would never move for all the money in the world. I just love Duval.”

Kimberly is building her own legacy by slowing down, listening and helping students believe in themselves. That is Why Duval County Public Schools. It is a place where educators can build relationships, inspire confidence and make a difference from their very first year. 💙

Sometimes progress looks like a new skill. Sometimes it is a smile, a shared moment or a student finally feeling understood. 💙📸

These photos offer a glimpse inside Lauren Krivensky’s classroom at Greenland Pines Elementary School, where communication goes far beyond words.

“Communication is all about connection.”

For five years, Lauren has helped students strengthen their communication skills, build relationships and grow more confident in who they are. She has even watched students she first worked with in preschool flourish in general education classrooms years later. 🌱✨

That is the heart of special education at Duval County Public Schools. Every breakthrough matters, every connection counts and every educator has the opportunity to change a life.

Bibiguel Mullen understands the power of a patient teacher.

After coming to the United States from Kazakhstan in 2004 with little English, she experienced firsthand what it means to need support, encouragement, and time to learn. Today, as an ESOL teacher at Alfred duPont Middle School, she uses that experience to help students find their voice and believe in what they can achieve.

“As soon as you park the car and come in, you are the person that’s going to make the difference in each child.”

That is the Why Duval difference. At Duval County Public Schools, educators create meaningful moments that can change a student’s path for life.

Leigh’s path is a reminder that some of the most meaningful careers are the ones that allow you to use your life experience to help someone else move forward. 💙📚

📸 From Army medic to fifth grade teacher, Leigh Proctor’s journey has always been about helping others.

Today at Duval County Public Schools Alimacani Elementary , Proctor brings that same sense of purpose into her classroom, where she’s spent years helping students build confidence, discover what they’re capable of and believe there’s no limit to where they can go. 🇺🇸📚💙

For Proctor, that’s one of the best parts of being an educator with Duval County Public Schools — seeing students grow not only academically, but in how they see themselves.

Take a look inside her classroom and meet another educator showing exactly what is all about. 📸✨

That is exactly what happened for Kathleen “Katie” Sengstack at Duval County Public Schools Kernan Boulevard Middle School.

Her journey with Duval County Public Schools is a pretty great reminder that you do not always have to know exactly where you are going when you start. Sometimes you just need the right people around you, an opportunity to grow and a place willing to believe in you. 💙

More than a decade after first joining the school, Katie has found something much bigger than a job.

She found her place. 🏡🍎
