We are still hopeful we will be able to keep the PTA going. We have someone willing to lead! Now, we absolutely must have a treasurer. I will be at Open House for Lone Star Elementary next Thursday the 4th at 6. Stop by and let's talk about it!

Hi everyone! Welcome back! This is Robin Bird, the current PTA President for Lone Star Elementary. I lead the charge to get the PTA reinstated last year. That was no easy task! We really just started to get off the ground last year and it would be really disappointing if we have to shut the PTA back down due to lack of folks to run it. However, that is exactly what will happen if we don't get interest and people in place before 9/30. Typically, officers are elected before the school year ends. We did not have the interest, so that did not happen. I just couldn't shut down the PTA without giving it one more try! I no longer have a child that goes to Lone Star and am active with my new PTA, so I cannot stay in this role.

When I say that if I can do it, anyone can, I MEAN IT!!! Stay tuned and I will post a little more about the roles and what it takes. In the meantime, give it a Google or check out our district PTA at dccpta.org. Feel free to reach out here or at [email protected].
