Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan to deliver keynote address
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (July 17, 2023) – The International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) Local 1408 Scholarship Fund will award $40,500 in scholarships to 20 area high school seniors and college students on Monday, Aug. 7, at 10 a.m. at the Edward Waters University (EWU) Milne Auditorium.
Established in 1995, the ILA 1408 scholarship program has awarded more than 1,000 scholarships totaling more than a million dollars.
EDITOR’S NOTE: While the event is on the Edward Waters University campus, the scholarship recipients will be attending various educational institutions throughout Florida.

The 28th Annual ILA Local 1408 Scholarship Fund's Golf Tournament was held on May 15th at Hidden Hills Golf & Country Club. Our tournament's Title Sponsor was the Rowe Family Charitable Fund and we were elated to have mayor-elect Donna Deegan join in the shot-gun start. As we prepare to award scholarships to qualified students in August, we NEED your support. There is still time to make your tax deductible donation for the Class of 2023.
