Fall Picnic was held today at Mulberry Cove Marina. Great day for a picnic…not so much for sailing afterwards. All-in-all a nice event for everyone who attended. Hope to see everyone at our next event!

Marina Day on 8 June HAS BEEN POSTPONED! Mulberry Cove Marina has made the decision that the Saturday, June 8th observance of National Marina Day is POSTPONED! This is due to ongoing, major construction at the marina complex. The good news is that on June 8th the scheduled ASA 101 sailing class will happen as planned.

Watch for announcements about a rescheduling of National Marina Day.

As we turn the corner toward Summer, our next event is the National Marina Day, observed Saturday, June 8th at Mulberry Cove. The NAS JAX Sailing Club participates as a way to promote the sport of sailing with the fleet at the marina. The day begins at 0800, when the marina opens and unfolds throughout the day. Watch for details on volunteering. NJSC joins in this VERY busy day by:
- Offering brief (15-20 minute) “Experience Sailing” rides on sailboats. This involves acting as skipper on a Flying Scot and sailing small groups or families in a short trek around the cove.
- For the picnic lunch, cooking hotdogs (and eating them), and socializing with the many sailors, family members and authorized MWR patrons enjoying the day.
- Setting up (in the shade) an information table to promote the Club.

The 2024 NJSC Spring Picnic/Potluck was a big success! Thank you to all who participated and volunteered their time.

Our NJSC Picnic/Potluck is almost upon us (28 April)! Please RSVP this week no later than Thursday, April 18th. That's the next day the marina office is open and the last day for us to put in our food order (for meats to grill, condiments, and more). Call: 904.542.3260.

NJSC Spring Picnic/Potluck – Join NJSC on Sunday, April 28th (RSVP soonest). Location at Fisherman’s Cove (due to marina construction). The fishing pier is directly across from the Subway store (on base). We’ll be under the covered pavilion with picnic tables and adjacent parking (reserved and at no cost).

1100 Grill prep and set-up (at Fisherman's Cove)
1200 Picnic/Potluck
1230 Brief Club update
1300 Move to the docks for sailing (bring your boat or jump aboard a fleet boat)
1600 Back to the dock to secure the boats

Expected Highlights:
- Good turnout, some tasty grilled items with condiments provided by Base MWR.
- Delicious potluck salads, sides and desserts (please bring to share)!
- Flying Scot and Catalina rentals with our 10% Club discount.
- Canoe and a couple of kayaks (provided pro bono) available at the fishing pier.
- Cold water and drink donated by a member or bring your own beverage.
- Friends and family are welcome on Sunday for food and fun.
- As usual, we’ll include the newest group of ASA 101 graduates who complete their written tests that day.
Volunteers for grilling/set-up: If you can, arrive around 1100 to assist with preparation.
Critical: Please RSVP to Mulberry Cove marina office by Monday, April 15th so we can get a count for food and boats. Please stop in the office or call: 904.542.3260.
