New Leaf School for Change

Today I officially marked New Leaf School for Change as permanently closed.

While the doors have closed, the memories, relationships, and lives touched over the years will always be part of its story.

It has been an incredible privilege to walk alongside so many amazing students and families. Watching students discover their strengths, overcome challenges, build confidence, and celebrate successes has been the greatest reward. I am deeply grateful to every student, parent, staff member, volunteer, and friend who believed in our mission and helped make New Leaf such a special place.

As we close this chapter, I'd love to hear from you. If New Leaf was part of your journey, please share your favorite memory in the comments. Whether it was a field trip, a project, a funny classroom moment, a graduation, or simply something that made you smile, I'd love to celebrate those memories together.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your lives. New Leaf may have closed its doors, but the impact of this community will stay with me forever. 💚

I hope everyone will join us tomorrow night @ 6pm for our last Sunset Ceremony. We have 5 graduates to celebrate. We will be in the sanctuary of Uplift Church on Kernan.

Mark your calendars if you are in the Jacksonville area for a community meeting and open house meeting to learn more about the Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Comprehensive Managed Care (ICMC) program. The ICMC Program is a new way to receive services and supports from the Florida Medicaid program. ICMC covers medical care and offers similar services to the iBudget Waiver. The meeting will take place at The Arc Jacksonville

After our impromptu "field trip" to Apna Bazar on Tuesday, we enjoyed trying raw sugar cane. I love that we can do things that make learning real.

Enjoyed some delicious Mediterranean cuisine to conclude two weeks of studying the geography of the Mediterranean. Thanks to my families for sending in delectable treats to sample.
