The Phi Delta Theta Florida Zeta Chapter was founded at Jacksonville University in 1968, thus becoming the University's first official fraternity on campus
As a Phi Delt you will experience change that will last a lifetime. Phi Delta Theta will provide you with a group of friends that will facilitate your transition into college life. We challenge any interested men to come find out what we are all about and we wish to thank all the lovely ladies that support us. As a Phi Delt, you will learn how to network with others by working closely with Phi Del
ta Theta alumni and University administration. These opportunities will help you discover the career you desire upon graduation. Our Chapter has expanded its influence beyond the realm of just Phi Delta Theta by having members involved in many other organization at Jacksonville University. Phi Delts are members of the Jacksonville University Student Alliance (JUSA), Naval Reserve Training Corps (NROTC), Interfraternal Council (IFC), Student Ambassadors Corps, College Republicans and many more. You are born alone and you die alone, so make the journey of life worthwhile with your best friends. Rush Phi Delta Theta. Founded in 1848, Phi Delta Theta has continued to uphold the Cardinal Principles of Friendship, Sound Learning and Moral Rectitude, carrying a reputation for excellence in over 170 campuses in the United States and Canada, having initiated almost 280,000 members since. As one of the nation’s largest fraternities, Phi Delt offers members the chance to be a part of a long and rich history, forming bonds that will last a lifetime. WHY PHI DELT? BROTHERHOOD
Membership in Phi Delta Theta goes far beyond belong to a social organization. Joining our Fraternity provides the opportunity to find a home away from home, forming bonds of brotherhood that will last, not only through college, but for a lifetime. The men of Phi Delt tell of the tremendous support that exists between brothers, and how this support has not only made them successful in college but has allowed them to have had the most fun while doing so. LEADERSHIP
Phi Delts are committed to the development of Leadership. Due to our heavy involvement in campus leadership, we are very influential in the shaping of student life here at Jacksonville University. SOCIAL
Phi Delt’s social calendar is always full. A very important part of the college experience is forming friendships and having fun. We host multiple events each month and each semester we have events such as: Formal, Mixers (parties) with Sororities, etc. The great thing about being in a Fraternity is that there is never a dull moment. There are always people to go hang out with and always activities to go participate in. This past year we hosted many events with sororities including: Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Epsilon Phi, Delta Delta Delta, and Gamma Phi Beta . ATHLETICS
The brothers of Phi Delta Theta participate in all forms of intramural sports, including Volleyball, Flag Football, Soccer and Softball. Phi Delt also participates in co-rec intramural championships with sororities in order to have a good time playing sports with girls and getting to know them. ACADEMICS
The main reason for attending JU is to take classes, get good grades and to get a great job. Therefore, we take academics very seriously. The Phi Delt Florida Zeta chapter requires every brother to have above a certain GPA in order to remain active in the chapter. NETWORKING
One of the biggest reasons to join a fraternity is to take advantage of the networking possibilities available to its members. Phi Delta Theta is no exception. Whether it is trying to get into an honor society or elected to a position in an organization on campus or trying to land that big job, there is a big plus to having brothers in places where you would like to go. Many of our active brothers hold high positions here on campus, and our national alumni have held such lofty positions as President of the United States and first man on the Moon. Here at Phi Delt, we know that it is not only what you know, but also who you know, and will ensure that you get the right connections to be successful as a result. Phi Delt has a networking website for active brothers and alumni to communicate and find jobs through Phi Delts across the nation. LEGACY
Since our founding in 1848, Phi Delta Theta now has more than 170 Chapters in the United States and Canada, having initiated almost 280,000 members. Phi Delt is in the top 3 nationally when it comes to number of active members. Moreover, our chapter on JU's campus has been in existence since October 1968 and as a result is the longest continuously running chapter on Jacksonville University's campus. We lost a great man today. In coelo quies est Brother Bill Stitt, Phi Delta Theta's Chaplain. You inspired us, made us laugh, and always brought faith to the forefront. You reminded us to "keep on keepin' on" in good times and bad, and Phi Delta Theta is a better Fraternity because of you. Our thoughts are with the Stitt family.
