At Our Homeroom Jax, our learners worked hard this year—but they also had the freedom to learn at their own pace, explore their interests, and discover their strengths.
From reading, math, science, and social studies to French, Spanish, cursive, entrepreneurship, the arts, and social-emotional learning, every child experienced an education designed with them in mind. Along the way, we explored our community through monthly field trips and countless hands-on learning experiences.
Most importantly, our students didn’t just grow academically. They grew in confidence, independence, curiosity, and self-belief.
None of this would have been possible without the partnership of our families, the dedication of our teachers, and the support of our community.
This year reminded us that education is not one-size-fits-all. When learning is student-centered, it can be truly transformative.
Congratulations to our learners on an incredible year. We can’t wait to see what you’ll accomplish next. 💙

At Our Homeroom Jax, we believe learning should be engaging, meaningful, and student-centered. Through hands-on learning experiences, critical thinking and reasoning, real-world application, and student-led learning opportunities, our students were able to build confidence while truly understanding what they were learning.

We had an incredible experience at the Jacksonville Symphony for the Percussion Ensemble performance! 🥁✨
Our students explored how rhythm connects cultures around the world—learning how different instruments create unique sounds based on materials, technique, and tradition. From hand drums to mallet instruments, they discovered how music tells stories across continents.
One of the most fascinating takeaways? Drums were historically used in the military to communicate commands on the battlefield—proving that percussion isn’t just music… it’s messaging, movement, and history.
Experiences like this bring learning to life and remind us that education happens far beyond the classroom walls. 🎶🌍

Our scholars and their families visited the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center for an interactive scavenger hunt highlighting the people and pivotal events that have shaped not only Florida—but influenced the world. 🌎
Through inquiry, exploration, and meaningful dialogue, students connected names to narratives and history to impact. They weren’t just reading about the past… they were actively engaging with it.
Days like this remind us that education is most powerful when it’s lived.

Today, mentors from .inc joined us again to share a story and lesson around emotional regulation. They stuck around to hear about a project based learning assignment our students have been working on for the past few months. They all developed business plans, created advertisements, and conducted market tests with their samples and prototypes to tie in with lessons about persuasion, mathematics, creativity, and financial literacy. Our students were excited to share their businesses with them and learn about keeping calm under stress! Thank you gentlemen for being a positive influence in the community and for our students.

Our students enjoyed our most recent field trip to the Shanghai Circus! The performance was an exciting and engaging experience that beautifully merged culture and performing arts. Students were captivated by the incredible acrobatics, discipline, teamwork, and storytelling displayed throughout the show. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to experience global culture in a meaningful and memorable way.
I wonder where we’re headed next 🤔…
