Our Best Sellers- Our Customed Designed Hollis CRIB BP/Wing Packages and Sidemount BCs...

The more I study, the more I become (a) serious (diver).

We watch our senior instructors, we watch our peers. We learn a lot. Sometimes wrongly.
We slice so much into safety that there is hardly any barrier left protecting us. I mean why not ? We are only diving “recreationally” right ?

Wrong. WRONG !

I sat frantically and started listing out points, trying to remember everything that I SHOULD HAVE TOLD MY STUDENTS TO WATCH OUT FOR OR LEARNT BETTER.
Like a Product Recall.

Because I am also learning as I am teaching. This post is an attempt to urge each on of us, to not start deviating- there is a reason why these rules/guidelines/standards are set in stone.

This post is intended as an educational reflection in scuba diving. It is not directed at, nor intended to criticize, blame, offend, or discredit any individual diver, instructor, dive professional, training agency, dive center, or organization.
The examples shared are used solely to illustrate concepts related to safety, judgement, and continuous learning. They are meant to encourage discussion, self-reflection, and professional growth within the diving community.
Like all divers, I continue to learn, evolve, and examine my own practices. This post reflects my personal understanding of the topic and is shared in that spirit.

As a Course Director, I’d like to highlight that Human Factors of Diving is a requirement for all leadership courses here. We integrate these principles not just in advanced programs, but from basic Openwater all the way through Instructor levels.

Our team proudly serves as ambassadors for Human Factors of Diving in the Jacksonville, Florida area, making sure every diver benefits from these important practices.
