The mission of North Florida School of Special Education is to discover and foster each student’s unique abilities revealing their highest potential within an engaged community. North Florida School of Special Education, established in 1992, is committed to providing a comprehensive individualized education plan for each student that meets his/her academic needs and sets realistic goals for success. Our school’s program is delivered through an integrated team approach involving the teachers, teaching assistant, speech, physical, occupational, and social skills staff. Our programs, with classes serving students age 6 through 22 years of age, include:

•Social Skills Instruction
•Speech and Language
•Occupational Therapy
•Vocational Training
•Physical Therapy
•Independent Living Instruction
•Job Placement Services

We adhere to a 1:6 Teacher/student ratio. At North Florida School of Special Education, students receive a quality education, participate as contributing members in their community and work alongside our teaching professionals and resource therapies staff to improve their academic, vocational and social skills.

Meet Nathan and Cole, our August Farmer and Florist of the Month! 🧑‍🌾🌻

Every day, Nathan comes and leaves with a smile! He is consistently aware of his coworkers, holding the door for others and helping wherever he is able. 
Nathan, thank you for all of your hard work and positive attitude. 🎉

Cole comes into Blooms with a can-do attitude. He is the first to lend a helping hand and is always uplifting his peers. When he finishes a task, Cole always asks, “What can I do next?”
Cole, thank you for your leadership in the shop and for the light you spread!👏

Both of these smiling faces have been a joy to have on the farm and in the shop during our first month back at school 🩷

A little shopping with some BIG life skills!🛒💵

Eagle Academy students are practicing budgeting through a mock store set up by our amazing teachers! Each student receives a $20 budget to spend on 4 essentials: a household item, food item, hygiene product, and a toy.

They practice comparing prices, making choices within a budget, putting items back when they went over, and calculating how much money they have left. They even took turns being the cashier and tracking purchases!👏

Real-world skills, hands-on practice and a little shopping fun along the way!💙
