Jacksonville Veterans Career Training Center The HBI Military and Veterans Services provides free training, certification and job placement in the construction trades.

With an 80 percent job placement rate for graduates, HBI training programs consistently benefit our graduates, the communities in which they live and work and our nation. HBI has been offering training and related products for more than 40 years. Its current portfolio includes HBI Job Corps, HBI PACT, HBI Mentoring, HBI Residential Construction Academy and NAHB Student Chapters.

Our Story

HBI and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity have partnered to offer returning veterans with free training and job placement in the construction industry.

The HBI Jacksonville Veterans program is open to all veterans who are residents of Florida. Veterans have access to free training, certification, and job placement in the state’s home building, remodeling, and light commercial construction sectors.

There are more than 20,000 building industry employers in Florida, the nation’s fourth largest market for home building. Construction employers report difficulty finding qualified workers at all levels of the industry from entry-level and semi-skilled craft workers to managers and subcontractors. Currently, 12 of the 20 “hot jobs” in Florida are construction-industry related, according to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.
