Angel's bio:

Angel Garcia was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He began playing piano at age 5, thanks to his neighborhood elementary school’s fantastic arts magnet program.

After high school, Garcia attended the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, and graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Music, with emphasis on Jazz Studies and piano performance.

Since graduating, Garcia has been part of several ensembles with regional success, as well as becoming a private music instructor.

In 2015, Garcia and some colleagues formed the Jacksonville-based Salsa band, LPT 🎶

Their debut album “Sin Parar” earned Best Latin Album of the Year at the Independent Music Awards 2020. As of 2026, they have three studio albums, and have had the opportunity to open for Santana, Pitbull, and Trombone Shorty, just to name a few.

Angel has spent his lifetime surrounded by music, and has developed as a multi-instrumentalist, able to play and teach guitar, bass, banjo, ukulele, trumpet, and percussion, all in addition to his first love, the piano.

With over 30 years of experience and dedication to music, Angel brings careful attention and patience to the students’ needs in the classroom.

🎹 Follow me for Piano Teaching Tips! Rhythmic activities play a vital role in developing a strong sense of timing for young pianists. Watch as little Mila engages in fun, interactive exercises using plastic plates, containers, and foam balls to create various clapping and tapping patterns. These activities help internalize rhythm and improve overall musicality. By repeating different rhythmic patterns and movements, students learn to feel the beat physically, making it easier to transfer this skill to the piano. Regular practice of these exercises enhances coordination, timing, and the ability to recognize and reproduce rhythmic patterns in music. A Rubens tube, also known as a flame tube, is an apparatus for demonstrating acoustic standing waves. Invented by German physicist Heinrich Rubens in 1905, it graphically shows the relationship between sound waves and sound pressure, as a primitive oscilloscope. Here is a recent demonstration by Brazilian trumpeter Moises Alves.
