This Thursday, April 7th, Dr. Kimberly Warfield and Dr. Stacey Gill will be presenting "It Starts with Me! Understanding Microaggressions." This workshop is designed to explore, identify, and obtain an understanding of the impact of microaggressions as well as engage in activities and dialogue to help eliminate bias among faculty and students.

Today, March 17th, Dr. Mark J. Sciuchetti, Jr. will be presenting "Mastering Creative Commons and OER: How to Develop and Share Engaging Resources for the Hybrid Classroom." This workshop will examine the use of Open Educational Resources (OER) and discuss ways to utilize them in the hybrid classroom to engage with students creatively.

Last week, JSU held a Women's History Month Awards Ceremony to recognize powerful women in the community, on campus, and in our state. At the event, Alabama Poet Laureate Ashley M. Jones served as the keynote speaker.

During the award ceremony, two faculty members were recognized. Dr. Oye Akisanya was awarded Professional Woman of the Year, and Emrys Donaldson was awarded Professional Gender Advocate of the Year.
