If you’re questioning your education decision right now, take a breath.

Changing course doesn’t mean you chose wrong—it means you’re paying attention to what your child needs now.

Keys Educational Resource Center supports families whose middle or high school students need:
• More individualized attention
• A different level of structure
• Academic rebuilding or renewed confidence
• Support without judgment

We believe students thrive when parents are empowered to adjust—not trapped by a plan that no longer fits.

We currently have space for mid-year enrollment.

Sometimes the school plan that felt right in August doesn’t feel right anymore—and that’s okay.

Mid-year academic stress, anxiety, or gaps in support can leave families wondering what to do next. At Keys Educational Resource Center, we partner with parents who need a thoughtful adjustment—not upheaval.

We offer middle and high school students:
• Small-group instruction
• Individualized academic support
• Flexible, parent-partnered learning
• A calm, structured environment

We currently have limited mid-year openings.

Councilman-at-Large, Terrance Freeman, was the big highlight for our morning at City Hall. I’m so grateful for the time he spent speaking into our children’s lives and really giving them an experience to remember. He shared his why and the highlights and challenges of his position on Council and also let them experience what it was like to sit in the seats and have a debate and vote. By the way, a hotdog is not a sandwich, as voted by the 2025 Homeschool Council. 🌭 🥪

A fantastic day downtown in the City of Jacksonville at City Hall with Councilman-at-Large Terrance Freeman, City Council Vice President Nick Howland, and City Councilman District 11 Raúl Arias. JAX Tours with Tina Sauvage took us to Mayoral Chambers. Casa Dora Italian Cafe for lunch. Underground Jax Tour with Molly at AdLib Luxury Tours & Transportation, Inc.

Big thanks to the mayor’s staff and our councilmen for hosting us and giving us the royal treatment. Freddy at Casa Dora was amazing. He gave us a great deal and had pizza ready for us to make sure we stayed on schedule.

It is with gratitude and joy that I would like to announce an exciting new partnership between KEYS Educational Resource Center and the all new River Academy Cooperative!

Our talented Suzanne Strength was given an exciting opportunity and has stepped out in faith in a new endeavor to open this K-8, Christ-centered co-op.

This decision comes at an excellent time as I enter a new season, as well, focused on a different kind of public service. Keys will now focus on our middle and high school programs and send our blessing with Suzanne and Mrs. Carrie along with our elementary program.

I will remain at Keys part time to oversee operations and teach English/Language Arts and History to make sure services are available to our older students, but am thrilled to share that my AMAZING former student and now trusted colleague, Robyn Bell, will continue work with us to teach not only Math, but Chemistry! Robyn is also founder of the new My Tutor Connections Resource Center, a secular option for middle and high school families. I am attaching information about both of these excellent new resources for our friends.

Keys is so proud of these ladies who have stepped out in faith to serve our community and offer high quality talent and resources for our homeschoolers!

Yesterday, our Civics class spent the day in Tallahassee. 😃

The kids had an incredible experience.

First, they visited Senate Chambers, where they had an opportunity to have a mock debate on the issue: the Day after Super Bowl should be a state holiday. We even saw the Senate President’s soft slippers!

We then visited the Florida Supreme Court and learned about our current justices and what kinds of cases are heard there- an excellent follow-up to our visit to our County Courthouse! At the Supreme Court, each student got to sit in the seat of Chief Justice Muñiz, and maybe for the first time ever? there were ladies filling up all 7 seats at the Supreme Court!

Rep. Dean Black, made some time for an extemporaneous meeting, and he took the time to shake hands and speak to each student, individually. A few students were thrilled to see that he recognized them from prior meetings.

We thought we would finish up with a Scavenger Hunt at the Old Capitol, but Rep. Black arranged a Tour of the House with his aid, a wonderful young man who kept our students captivated with the most interesting information! As a result, I think at least a few of them are now inspired to one day join the “House Circus,” since he made It sound so fun!

We are very grateful to our Senator, Clay Yarborough, who was our host and to his office staff for organizing our tours and to Representative Dean Black and his staff for making us feel so special and showing us such a good time.
