Hi, MCV parents. It's summer time! We are working on scheduling some fun things for our children for the months of June and July and we'd love to have your help. If you or anyone you know has a job, skill, or hobby that might be interesting, appropriate, and educational/fun for children, we'd love to have you come share it with our kiddos. Some examples might be a special art project, guess reader, sport or outside activity, presentation, animal visit, entertainment performance, etc. Pass this on and let us know if you'd like to come share something fun in the Village this summer! VPK families...it's that special time! Graduation day is next Tuesday, May 19th at 10:00am. Grown-up guests welcome to arrive at 9:45am. Our ceremony will be short and sweet, with time for refreshments and photos afterwards. Call the office with any questions. We are looking forward to celebrating with you!

A big thanks to the ladies group of Southside Methodist for the wonderful lunch and fellowship during Staff Appreciation Week!

We are happy to announce that our center earned our highest score ever on our program assessments this year! Each year, randomly selected MCV classrooms are assessed, using the CLASS observation tool, to measure the interactions between children and staff. Observers are looking for instructional strategies, advanced language modeling, and a positive classroom climate. The entire staff works hard all year to improve their skills and make their classrooms the best they can be for our little ones. Congratulations to the hard-working MCV staff!

Yes, please. ♥️

Children don't need another activity.
Another achievement.
Another night of "just one more thing."

They need rest.

Not just sleep — but deep, healing,
brain-and-body-resetting rest.

Because growing up in this world is
overstimulating, overwhelming, and exhausting.
And right now, too many children are running on empty —
functioning in a fog of sleep-deprivation
that no one is calling out loud enough.

So let's be the ones who do…

Cancel the extras.
Clear the schedule.
Eat dinner earlier.
Say no to late-night demands
that come at the cost of their health.

Prioritise their sleep.

Demonstrate it in your own life.
Make it non-negotiable.

Because rested kids cope better.
They learn better.
They behave better.
They feel better.

And because exhaustion isn't
a childhood rite of passage.
It's a warning sign. ❤️
