📚✨ Great things are happening in Third Grade at Meadow View! ✨📚

Students in Mrs. Lazenby’s class are putting their reading skills to work through Reciprocal Teaching! This strategy gives students an active role in understanding what they read as they practice predicting, questioning, clarifying, and summarizing. Students aren’t just reading—they’re thinking, discussing, and learning from one another! 🧠💬

Third Grade also officially kicked off their Lexia Lounge! 🎉🥤 Students are working hard to level up in Lexia, a personalized literacy program that provides practice based on each student’s individual reading needs. As students make progress and level up, they get the chance to celebrate their hard work by hanging out in the Lexia Lounge with a sweet drink! 🍹📖

We love seeing our Mustangs taking ownership of their learning, building stronger reading skills, and having a little fun along the way! 🐴💙🧡

🚒🔥 Kindergarten Fire Truck Day! 🔥🚒

Our Meadow View Mustangs had an exciting day learning all about fire safety and the important work of our firefighters! Our kindergarten students loved getting an up-close look at the fire truck, exploring the equipment, and learning from some of our community heroes! 🧑‍🚒🐴

A HUGE thank you to our firefighters for taking the time to visit, educate, and create such a memorable experience for our little Mustangs! ❤️🚒

¡Nuestros Mustangs de Meadow View tuvieron un día emocionante aprendiendo sobre la seguridad contra incendios y el importante trabajo de nuestros bomberos! A nuestros estudiantes de Kindergarten les encantó ver de cerca el camión de bomberos, conocer el equipo y aprender de algunos de los héroes de nuestra comunidad. 🧑‍🚒🐴

🌟 Today was our very first Club Day with our Advocates! 🌟

Our students spent time with their staff Advocate Mentors while participating in fun activities—learning new crafts, exploring important character traits, celebrating birthdays, building relationships, and so much more! 💙💛

But Club Day is just the beginning! Each Wednesday, students will check in with their Advocate Mentor and complete a reflection activity in Teams. These weekly check-ins will give students an opportunity to reflect, connect, celebrate successes, and know they have another trusted adult at school cheering them on! 🙌

We’re excited to watch these relationships grow throughout the year. Every student deserves an advocate! ❤️🐴

🌟 ¡Hoy fue nuestro primer Día de Clubes con nuestros Mentores! 🌟

Nuestros estudiantes pasaron tiempo con sus Mentores del personal escolar mientras participaban en actividades divertidas: aprendieron nuevas manualidades, exploraron importantes valores y cualidades de carácter, celebraron cumpleaños, fortalecieron relaciones ¡y mucho más! 💙💛

¡Pero el Día de Clubes es solo el comienzo! Cada miércoles, los estudiantes se comunicarán con su Mentor y completarán una actividad de reflexión en Teams. Estos encuentros semanales les darán la oportunidad de reflexionar, conectarse, celebrar sus logros y saber que tienen a otro adulto de confianza en la escuela que los apoya y anima. 🙌

Estamos muy emocionados de ver cómo estas relaciones continúan creciendo durante todo el año. ¡Cada estudiante merece tener a alguien que lo apoye y crea en él! ❤️🐴

🧡🖤 Celebrating Our Amazing Custodial Team! 🖤🧡

Last Friday, a VERY important day slipped right by us—National Custodian Day! We couldn’t let it go by without showing some much-deserved love and appreciation to the incredible people who work SO hard each and every day to keep Meadow View clean, safe, and welcoming for our Mustangs! 🐎✨

A HUGE thank you to Ms. Della, Mr. David, and Ms. Alyssa for all of your hard work, dedication, and the many things you do behind the scenes to keep our school shining! 🧹🧡

We also want to recognize Tarin and Tina, who aren’t pictured but also jump in and help support our school and custodial team. We appreciate you, too! ❤️

There is so much that happens before our students arrive, throughout the school day, and long after everyone leaves—and we see you, we appreciate you, and we are so thankful for you!

No podíamos dejar pasar la oportunidad de mostrar nuestro cariño y agradecimiento a las increíbles personas que trabajan MUY duro todos los días para mantener Meadow View limpio, seguro y acogedor para nuestros Mustangs. 🐎✨

💙💛🧦 Crazy Socks, Big Hearts & an EXTRA Special Friday! 🧦💛💙

We wrapped up our Disability & Inclusion Awareness Week by wearing BLUE, YELLOW, and our CRAZIEST SOCKS to celebrate and support individuals with Down syndrome! 💙💛

In addition, one of our Mustangs celebrated today by participating in Cape Fear’s annual Buddy Walk in Wilmington! 💙💛

Our day was made even more special with a walk featuring Ms. Murray’s and Ms. Jordan’s classes, celebrating two of our most AWESOME Mustangs! 🐎💙💛 It was a beautiful reminder of what inclusion is all about—celebrating each person for exactly who they are and making sure EVERY Mustang knows they belong.

And the celebration continues all month long, as October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month! 💙💛

💛🩵 Celebrating Disability & Inclusion Awareness Week! 🩵💛

Yesterday, our Mustangs wore turquoise and yellow to show their support for individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing! 🤟🐎

Throughout the day, we celebrated the many different ways people communicate, connect, learn, and experience the world. Inclusion starts with understanding—and sometimes the smallest actions, like being patient, facing someone when speaking, using visual supports, or simply making sure everyone is included, can make a BIG difference! 💛

We are proud to continue building a school where every Mustang is seen, heard, valued, and supported. 🧡🖤
