Good morning all CMAI Karate students and families. We hope you had a wonderful Christmas filled with love, happiness and family. We wanted to let everybody know that tonight is the last class for 2025 come get your training on as we say goodbye to this year and getting ready for a stellar 2026! After tonight’s class, the dojo will be closed the rest of the week as we prepare to celebrate New Year’s. Hope to see you tonight for the last class in 2025 and again we hope you have a safe and happy New Year’s and look forward 2026! All classes will resume their normal schedule next Monday 1-5-26.

Welcome to Carters Martial Arts Institute, we are glad you stopped by. We offer classes for children, and adults, families, and businesses. Whatever your personal self defense goals, or personal achievements are let us help you on your way. We teach classes in Modern Arnis, Ryukyu Kempo, Tuite, and Kyusho Jitsu. We would love to have you join us for a class and see for yourself the fun, and enjoyment the Martial Arts can bring.
We wanted to take a moment to wish each and every one of our friends, families and students a very Merry Christmas and a healthy happy and prosperous New Year. Please remember the dojo will be closed the week of Christmas and return the following Monday for the last class of 2025 which we will be closed the rest of that week for New Year’s. We come back to our regular schedule the Monday after New Year’s to kick off 2026 with a bang! We have some awesome training opportunities, coming up and new things to come so be prepared for a great new year. Thank you again from all of us at CMAI Karate for being part of our martial arts family and continuing to excel in your training and growth.

Tonight we continued our work through Naihanchi Shodan with this next section of the Kata. This follows the punch followed by lifting of the legs and turn of the hand as it corresponds with the hand movement.

This is a continuation of our look into Naihanchi Shodan. Here we went over the second set from the kata. It’s just a few of the ideas we were working through and wanted to share.

Congratulations to our newest CMAI Karate Black Belt Leona Greenwald. She has been training hard for a many years and did exceptionally well on her exam. We are proud of her success and glad to welcome her into the CMAI Karate Yudansha. Well done!

Tonight’s class worked elements of Tuite and movement from two hand grab. Different variations were discussed as well as working from various perspectives such as opponent height, strength, and body position.

Tran has prior obligations with his job. We will be having normal classes next week starting back on Monday. We hope you all have a safe and enjoyable weekend, and look for to next weeks training!
To all CMAI Karate, students and families. With the impact of the upcoming storm this evening and tomorrow and the school closures, we have decided to cancel classes for the safety of our students, families and staff.
