During the first days of school, we’re highlighting each of our CTE programs in our district!

Next up is our Precision Machining Program led by Mr. Jonathon Williams!!

Students in this program have the opportunity to build valuable, hands-on skills through courses such as:
🦺 Safety and Health Regulations
🔩Intro to Lathe
💻 CNC 1&2
📈 CAD/CAM 1

The CTSO for this program is SkillsUSA and they are home to the 2026 SkillsUSA 2-Axis CNC NATIONAL CHAMPION!!

Students in this program have the opportunity to earn a large amount of dual enrollment credit through Gadsden State Community College and multiple industry recognized credentials‼️

This program has hit the ground running‼️

Next up is our BRAND NEW HVAC and Electrical program led by Ms. Kailey Hardy!!!! Ms. Hardy comes to us with a wealth of industry experience and knowledge as well as dual degrees in both HVAC and Electrical!! 💥

Students in this program have the opportunity to build valuable, hands-on skills through courses such as:

💨 HVAC Fundamentals
⚡️ Electrical Fundamentals
🔨 HVAC Installation and Operation
🏠 Electrical Installation

The CTSO for this program will be SkillsUSA!

Students will have the opportunity to earn their NCCER Level 1 for either HVAC or Electrical as well as their EPA card through this program‼️

Next up is our Health Science Program led by Ms. Kristen Waddell MSN, RN and Ms. Heather Carden BSN, RN!

Students in this program have the opportunity to build valuable, hands-on skills through courses such as:

🩺 Foundations of Health Science
👩‍⚕️ Medical Terminology
👨‍⚕️ Human Body Structures
🏥 Therapeutic Services

The CTSO for this program is HOSA and they had an incredible year last year with 6 state qualifiers and a top 6 finish in Prepared Public Speaking!

Students can earn their Nursing Support Technician Certification through this program. Which is a permit through the Alabama Board of Nursing. The entire 25-26 senior class earned this certification‼️

Students in this program have the opportunity to build valuable, hands-on skills through courses such as:

🎭 Event Planning and Management
🏨 Hospitality Management and Marketing

The CTSO for this program is FCCLA and this program also competes in Alabama ProStart competitions! Last year, they placed 4th against culinary programs from all across The State of Alabama!!

Students can earn multiple ServSafe credentials through this program‼️

FFA chapter officers and advisors from across the Calhoun County Schools District attended the Calhoun County Farmers Federation Annual Meeting this evening!

We are incredibly grateful for the continued support the Calhoun County Farmers Federation provides to our Agriscience programs and FFA members each and every year.

KateLynn Dummar, Alabama FFA State Treasurer from the Weaver FFA Chapter had the honor of presenting the County FFA Report during the meeting.

We were also proud to celebrate $16,000 in scholarships awarded to former Calhoun County FFA members who are pursuing careers in agriculture! 🎓🌱

Scholarship Recipients:
• Jackson Cleary — Senior at Auburn University studying Agriscience Education
• Carla Carmona Acosta — Sophomore at Auburn University double majoring in Agricultural Economics and Finance
• Madelyn Cone — Junior at Auburn University studying Agriscience Education

Congratulations to these outstanding students, and thank you to the Calhoun County Farmers Federation for investing in the future of agriculture and agricultural education in Calhoun County! 🚜🌾

The CTSO for this program is SkillsUSA and this program is home to the 2026-27 State SkillsUSA Secretary, Ms. Miley Curlee

Students can earn their Natural Hair Stylist license and hours towards multiple cosmetology schools! 👩‍🎓

The CTSO for this program is SkillsUSA and they are fresh off of a State Runner-Up finish in Painting and Refinishing!!

Students can also earn I-CAR Credentials and take advantage of GSCC Dual Enrollment opportunities through this program! 🎓🛠️
