🎭🎬 Congrats on your paid booking Reggie, Sarah, Keith, Dreshun, Cody, and Brandon!

There’s nothing like taking what you’ve learned in acting class and getting the chance to put it to work on set! 🎉🕺🏽💜

This past weekend, six of our advanced acting students were booked on the same commercial, and we couldn’t be happier for them!

Learning the what, the how, and the why behind the work means being ready when an audition, commercial, film, or other acting opportunity comes your way.

We’re incredibly proud of all of our students, and everyone out there putting in the time, work, and effort because they truly love the craft and want to keep growing.

This isn’t easy work. Sometimes it’s the most frustrating thing ever. 🤯 It really does take patience, vulnerability, discipline, persistence, and a willingness to keep going sometimes.

Whether you’re booking the job, preparing for the next audition, taking a class, working through a difficult scene, or trying to be a little better than you were yesterday, we applaud you.

Keep going. 💜💖💜

P.S. If you’re looking to start or just want a refresher so you feel ready for whatever comes next, send us a message!

🎬 🎭 Creative Veins Students Book Wounded Warrior Project Commercial

We’re proud to share that several Creative Veins acting students recently booked roles in a commercial for Wounded Warrior Project focused on mental health awareness and su***de prevention.

Wounded Warrior Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting veterans and their families through mental health services, career counseling, long-term rehabilitative care, advocacy, and other life-changing programs.

We’re incredibly proud of our students and honored to have contributed to a project carrying such an important message.

Experiences like this remind us that acting can do more than entertain; it can help raise awareness, encourage meaningful conversations, and connect people with support.

Just for funsies 🕺🏽🎭

After class tonight, we decided to try this trend: one 90-second long take, three statue pose changes, and a sped up edit.

Please enjoy our museum of human statues. 🗿✨

🎬🎭 We were forwarded these questions earlier, and this comes up pretty regularly:

“Are there any free workshops around town or online that I could participate in?”

OR

“Are there things I can do outside of class to keep learning acting?”

The short answer is: absolutely, yes.

There are definitely things you can do on your own to learn and keep growing through free resources.

Free acting classes and workshops pop up occasionally, especially through libraries, community programs, colleges, theatre groups, and online events. That said, acting is a specialized skill (just like music, dance, and singing) so most ongoing, quality, advanced training usually involves paying an instructor/coach for their time, experience, and guidance.

If someone is brand new, learn more OR wants to explore before committing to paid classes, there are some great free resources to start with:

1.) SAG-AFTRA Foundation | they offer free programs, convos, and online classes. Most are for SAG-AFTRA members, but they occasionally have free offerings for all.

2.) National Theatre YouTube Channel | great for actor warm-ups, theatre conversations, movement work, and behind-the-scenes learning. They have actor warm-up videos and masterclass-style videos you can tune into at anytime!

3.) Backstage | they provide helpful articles on getting started, self-tapes, auditions, headshots, résumés, and the business side of acting.

4.) Local libraries, community theaters, and colleges | they offer free intro workshops, audition prep events, and play readings from time to time.

5.) Books | there are tons of amazing books to learn from! Our favs include An Actor Prepares, The Art of Acting, Meisner on Acting and Respect for Acting.
