Welcome to the summer semester! Learn and study hard.

The School of Communication was excited to celebrate with their graduates on May 1st. The ballroom was filled with students, their families and School faculty. The Outstanding Students in the undergraduate and graduate programs were recognized as well as the Student Ambassadors.

Prof. Goodin also took a few minutes to recognize Dr. Parmelee and his accomplishments as the Chair/Director for over 12 years. Dr. Parmelee will be stepping down as Director this summer. We are happy that he will remain with the School of Communication as a faculty member.

Congratulations to all our graduates! We're excited to see where your journey takes you. This is just the first of many milestones you will reach! We wish all of you the best, and we can't wait to see how you SOAR!

Congratulations to Professor Diane Matuschka! She is retiring after 21 years of teaching Fundamentals of Speech at ! We will miss her. We wish her the best in this next chapter of her life and hope she can get the rest and relaxation she has well-earned.

Congratulations to Jessica Lee and the Multimedia Club on being nominated for an Emmy Award! Jessica made the most of her time as president of the club by creating something that gave the members the opportunity to learn and grow in a way that goes beyond their degree. They created a short film, "Dress 2 Success," which focused on the people and places working to make looking professional sustainable and affordable. The School of Communication is proud to have students like Jessica continue to go above and beyond!

Roy Christopher has been a professor at for the last three years and is the author of several books. He has knowledge in many areas which gives all of his writings a different feel. He will host a session focused on his writing journey from zines to books. Have your questions ready. Stop by the library on April 14 from 5-6 p.m.

Spring 2026 graduates are invited to bring their families to the School of Communication Graduation Reception in the Student Union Ballroom on graduation day.
