HCL is proud to announce that, Jodi Poe, Head of Technical Services at the Houston Cole Library and Editor, Journal of Library & Information Services in Distance Learning Received the Distance and Online Learning Section (DOLS) Distance Learning Librarianship Award from the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL). This award honors an individual who has contributed to the success of distance and online learning librarianship through a specific project or initiative related to library service in higher education. Melissa Atkinson and Michael Courtney, Co-Chairs of the DOLS Awards Committee, shared “The nominated project by Jodi Poe, editor of the Journal of Library & Information Services in Distance Learning, is illustrative of the creative support of distance library education through a publication of exemplary quality.” 🥳

Keagan Hardin is this year's recipient of the Martha Cole Award for Outstanding Student Worker. Keagan is graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design in the Spring of 2026 and has been with the Library for four years. He will join the HCL in Fall 2026 as our newest graduate assistant. We would like to thank him for his work and look forward to seeing him return in his new role! Congratulations, Keagan! 🥳
