The LaVilla Foundation is an artistically driven organization dedicated to providing students with the skills they need to become innovative, active members of our community through artistic and creative endeavors while developing personal growth and civic responsibility. The LaVilla Foundation prepares a culturally diverse population within an inner-city environment to become d

isciplined, confident, motivated, and productive citizens. We are a non-profit organization supporting the Vocal Music Program at the LaVilla School of the Arts in Jacksonville, FL.

Had a great morning with Art Singers today as part of our LaVilla team of artists and speakers. The City of Jacksonville unveiled a marker commemorating the brave students who were injured in the peaceful pursuit of equality here in Jacksonville on what is now known as Ax Handle Saturday. The speakers did a beautiful job of capturing the potential of young people to affect change in their communities and world. Art Singers opened the event with Lift Every Voice and Sing. The mayor and three wonderful speakers (some of whom were part of the sit in that day) built us up and inspired us. Three LaVilla students from the African American History class closed the event with the promise of learning from the past to make a better future. Two LaVilla artist sketched the event in real time. It was a beautiful ceremony.

LaVilla packed the house at Skate Station OP tonight!!! Thank you to all the parents who drove out after a long work week to let these kids have a great night together. This is what school spirit looks like❤️❤️❤️❤️. We made over $1100 for our school tonight just by having a blast together.

Hello all! Hopefully everyone is having an amazing Summer! 🤗 Our vocal orientation is tomorrow night! We will try to also host a live call, but that doesn’t always work in such a large space, so we hope to see you there! If you’re unable to attend, we will send out the presentation to the email we have on file. EVERYONE should have received an email from either Mr. Pendry or Mrs. Moreau regarding vocal orientation. We are SO proud of Mr. Cyriac Adjevi for being honored with the “Lindsay Keller Rising Star” award, through the Florida Vocal Association. It feels like yesterday that Mr. Adjevi was in the vocal department at The LaVilla School of the Arts, completing his teaching internship. He had such a great impact on the students, they tried to blockade the classroom doors on his last day as an intern! It has been a pleasure to see you grow as a teacher and mentor at Wolfson, and we are blessed to have to you as a colleague and friend. Way to go, Mr. Adjevi!🎉🙌
