🧇🦩 OUR PTA IS WAFFLE-Y AMAZING! 🦩🧇

Our Sabal Palm PTA helped make the school day a little sweeter by treating our incredible faculty and staff to a delicious breakfast in celebration of National Waffle Day! 💗

And they didn’t just bring waffles—they went ALL OUT! 🙌 Waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, toppings, drinks, and plenty of Flamingo flair made for an awesome morning and a wonderful way to show our staff just how appreciated they are.

A HUGE THANK YOU to our PTA and everyone who helped make this breakfast possible! 🩷 Your time, generosity, and support are exactly what make the Sabal Palm community so special.

📢🍎 Important Meal Information for Sabal Palm Families 🍎📢

As we begin the new school year, we want to share an important update regarding school meal eligibility for families at Sabal Palm Elementary.

🥣 Breakfast is FREE for ALL students every day!

If your family may qualify for Free or Reduced-Price Lunch, we encourage you to complete an application as soon as possible.

Here are a few important reminders:

✅ Students who qualified for Free or Reduced Lunch last school year will keep that status for the first 30 school days or until a new eligibility determination is made (whichever comes first).

🆕 Students who are new to Duval County Public Schools are considered paid until a Free/Reduced-Price Meal Application is submitted and approved.

📄 Completing your application early helps ensure there is no interruption in meal benefits.

🦩 Flamingo Families: Important Arrival, Dismissal & School Updates for Tomorrow

As we continue settling into the new school year, please remember that tomorrow, Wednesday, August 12, we will begin our regular arrival procedures.

Beginning tomorrow, parents/guardians will no longer walk students to their classrooms. Our staff will be ready throughout campus to welcome students and help them safely make their way to class.

Please refer to the Arrival Map in our Parent Newsletter for specific arrival locations and procedures:

Families who would like a few extra moments for hugs and kisses are welcome to park in Flamingo Forest and walk students to our side gate. This is a great way to help ease the transition while encouraging your child’s confidence and independence. 💗

🚗 Dismissal Reminders
Dismissal is now fully managed through PikMyKid (PMK). Please make sure your student’s dismissal information is accurate and updated in PMK, especially if your child will be going home differently than usual.

Our Car Loop gate will close promptly at 3:15 PM. Please arrive with enough time to enter the loop before the gate closes.

🚌 Bus Transportation
Any family needing bus transportation—including ESE bus services—must register for transportation through Focus. Please remember that the approval and routing process may take up to 10 days, so families needing transportation should complete registration as soon as possible.

We would love to see our families and community members tomorrow night in the Multipurpose Room:

5:30 PM – School Advisory Council (SAC)
6:00 PM – First PTA Meeting of the Year

Both SAC and PTA are important ways for families and community members to stay informed, share their voices, and support the work happening at Sabal Palm. Please come out and support our school!

Cub Scouts is coming to Sabal Palm Elementary, and we'd love to see your family there!

Whether your child enjoys sports ⚽, swimming 🏊, fishing 🎣, camping ⛺, hiking 🥾, archery 🏹, STEM activities 🔬, or simply having fun with friends, Cub Scouts offers exciting opportunities to build confidence, character, leadership, and lifelong memories.
